one of the greatest soundtracks
Review of Cruel Intentions - Original Soundtrack by lenak

Advantages: great alternative artists
Disadvantages: poor inside content

when i first saw the film at the movies i couldn't believe that it could be a movie remembered not for the performances or the story but for it's music. Placebo, Fatboy slim, Blur, Counting crows, Faithless, Verve and so many other great artists can be found in this cd. If nothing else, buy this soundtrack only to remember the scene at the funeral where you could hear the bitter sweet symphony by the verve. There can always be people who say that ... Read review

Bop to the Top!!
Review of High School Musical - Various Artists by kircus

Advantages: great to listen to
Disadvantages: people loook at you if you sing out loud!!

...built up emotions in these high school kids who just want to fit in with their peers, and singing these songs helps them 'break free', so to speak, from the cliques of normal high scool life at East High. These songs are both inspiring and fun to listen to, and I personally have gotten a lot of enjoyment from singing along to these songs. ... Read review

Grease is THE word!
Review of Grease - Original Soundtrack by Seacow060

Advantages: Fun!
Disadvantages: None!

If you've seen the movie, and love the music in it, pick up this single disc reissue of the original classic 2-LP album. I have the original record album and played it quite frequently. It's good to hnag on to, but in the past year I bought this single disc and don't have to worry about this getting worn out. All the original songs from the film are here. The songs are done in the style a typical '50s rock'n'roll song or ballad. The title track ... Read review

Doctor Who Soundtrack series 3 Review
Review of Doctor Who: Original Television Soundtrack (Series 3) - Various Artists by Chrishutchy

Advantages: Murray Golds Best Work
Disadvantages: Nothing I can think of

...episode of Series 3 of Doctor Who this is like re-living each episode but in music form. Each and every song represents the Doctor Who genre like a heart represents love! Just as the first Murray Gold Doctor who soundtrack it starts with the same wondering music of series 1 when we are looking down from space onto earth and then focus into see rose for the first time but we go into the series trailer music which has become to represent the series. ...
...want to run like the Doctor does J! Then we hear Martha's Theme, which appears in over 6 episodes when the scene is about Martha. Just like Rose and the Doctor have their theme Martha has to have one and its one of the best out of the 3! The sound of the calming voice matched with piano in the background just divines Martha to the tee. And the musical masterpiece doesn't stop there. There's just pieces as "Boe" which plays just as the Face of Boe ... Read review

Soulful
Review of Commitments Vol.1, The - Original Soundtrack by Sandra24

Advantages: Catchy songs
Disadvantages: None really

...soundtrack to the movie The Commitments and that instantly took me back more than ten years. The movie with the same name (which in turn is based on a novel by the famous Irish writer Roddy Doyle) is about a group of young people in Ireland who decide to put a band together, and even though this is not a review about the film it is near impossible to write a review of the soundtrack without mentioning the film, especially in this case as the film ...
...the things that made The Commitments such a success is the voice of Andrew Strong, the lead singer in the group. It's a well known fact that he was only 16 years old when the movie, and subsequently the album, was made which to this day I find astonishing. Not only does he look a lot older, his voice is mature and it sounds as though he has lived on a diet of whisky and cigarettes for a decade. Even though he is not the only singer on the album I ...
