Sylvain Chomet's Belleville Rendez-Vous is a critically acclaimed french animation which relied heavily on it's music, the film has very little actual dialogue so the soundtrack was an important factor. French jazz guitarist Ben Charest created the soundtrack and instead of composing it after the film was created, he worked with Chomet from the start, giving him proper insight into the kind of quirky music the film required. Good OST for a brilliant film.

Advantages: Creates a great atmosphere to the film, good vocals and originality.
Disadvantages: Some songs seem very similar to others

...Taken from the 2005 film; Factotum from Charles Bukowsi's book (Factotum!) this soundtrack is the perfect accompaniment for the film. Each song clearly represents the thoughts and feelings through an atmospheric and ambient backing track and thought provoking lyrics. The names of the songs allow you to remember which part of the film you heard it. I particularly enjoyed the range of genres built within the soundtrack, from the titles of the songs ...
