...or my continuing addiction with Ally McBeal and the fact that it's Christmas with them at the moment...
Inspired by some of the songs that were performed in the third season of Ally, I decided to buy their Christmas CD "A very Ally Christmas". I got it from play.com for 5.99 with free delivery. That's the best offer I could find on the internet, but I'm happy to get advice where to look next time... ;-)
The CD was just delivered today and has since ... ...roommate Renee in the series Ally McBeal. Those of you, who have seen a few episodes will know that she isn't very reluctant to perform the one or other song on stage. So therefore my expectations were fairly high, and I'm sorry to say that they weren't quite met. Her voice sounds rather squeaky and this song surely doesn't show her full potential.

Oh such a good song. Elaine / Jane Krakowski at her best - telling ...
Advantages: Varity of music Disadvantages: Dont know!
...to Quentin Tarantino's breakthrough movie Pulp Fiction is arguably one of the best soundtrack albums you'll ever hear. Like Tarantino's other movie soundtracks like Reservoir Dogs and Kill Bill, it combines a few great songs that were past hits with tracks that most music listeners have never heard before. Unlike those soundtracks, Pulp Fiction is great from beginning to end with the more obscure tracks being arguably better than the more established ... ...hits are very strong. Kool & The Gang's "Jungle Boogie" is one of the best funk jams from the '70s. Al Green's "Let's Stay Together" is '70s soul at its best. Chuck Berry's "You Never Can Tell", Dusty Springfield's "Son Of A Preacher Man", Ricky Nelson's "Lonesome Town", and the Statler Brothers' "Flowers On The Wall" with its catchy chorus are also great tracks.
This a great soundtrack to what was arguably one of the best movies of the '90s. ...
Advantages: Great choice of tracks to accompany the film Disadvantages: No Beatles (revoution/helter skelter etc!!)
You have to admire Francis Coppola's nerve - using everything in his record collection from The Doors to Richard Wagner to accompany his breathtaking vision of the Vietnam war on acid. From the opening scene, with his brilliant use of Morrison's 'The End' you instantly get the feel of this movie, you aren't in for an easy ride. It does seem though that most of the time music is actually played on transistor radios by the marines or it is actually ...
Advantages: Superb variety of instruments, one very strong theme. Memorable moments. Exceptional value for money. Disadvantages: A lot of similar material. Howard Shore.
Lord Of The Rings will undoubtedly be one of the great trilogies of all time, thanks to the genius of Peter Jackson.
The soundtrack will undoubtedly not be one of the great soundtracks of all time. It's not memorable in the way that Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Gladiator (to an extent) - and all the other films which contain strong themes. Is there a Lord Of The Rings Theme - I can think of one, but it's not exactly up there with the great ones. HOWEVER!!!
... ...Some inside information. The Lord Of The Rings music budget was 6 million pounds per film (that might be wrong - it might had been the whole trilogy - but I was told it was per film). The soundtrack - definitely sounds like it's worth 6 million pounds. The recording is exceptional, and the orchestral forces (London Philarmonic Orchestra) are HUGE. Add to that the choir of the London Voices and the London Oratorio, and musicians required to play instruments ...
Advantages: 4 CDs of potter Pleasure Disadvantages: Maybe difficult to listen if you dont like this type of music
...for many things other than harry potter. His remarkable ability and talent to compose memorable melodies and powerful harmonies has catapulted him into the realms of Hollywood and blockbuster films. Jurassic park, Schindler's List, Star wars and, of course Harry Potter, are just a few of his compositions. His uncanny ability to create feelings of hope, despair, triumph and evil are not to be matched and his works will be remembered for years to come. ...
