Advantages: Good souvenir for fans Disadvantages: Very similar to original "Quadrophenia" album
Described as one of the most "powerful British films ever made," you would expect more from this album than just a re-release of an album with a few chops and changes. However, it does serve as an appropriate souvenir of the film, and the new songs "Joker James" and "Four Faces" gives you the extra bonus material that the original "Quadrophenia" album doesn't provide. Decent tracks included the first "I Am the Sea," "Helpless Boy" and "Joker James" ...
Advantages: The music is the best Disadvantages: The movie is worst
It is one of the best soundtrack speccially with the Bee Gees music like "Saturday Night Fever", "Stayin Alive", "More than a Woman" for example and groups as Kool and The Gang "These boots are made for walking" or The tramps" with the Disco Inferno that is a seven- minute music, in my own opinion I like it because I dance when I was a child and was a part of the best songs of the ends of the seventies. Advantages: Great choice of tracks to accompany the film Disadvantages: No Beatles (revoution/helter skelter etc!!)
You have to admire Francis Coppola's nerve - using everything in his record collection from The Doors to Richard Wagner to accompany his breathtaking vision of the Vietnam war on acid. From the opening scene, with his brilliant use of Morrison's 'The End' you instantly get the feel of this movie, you aren't in for an easy ride. It does seem though that most of the time music is actually played on transistor radios by the marines or it is actually ...
Advantages: One of the best musical scores ever; Joel Grey Disadvantages: Not enough of the score...
...least six professional recordings of Cabaret available, this being the recording from the 1972 film version featuring Joel Grey and Liza Minelli. It isn’t the best of the recordings available – that is a toss-up between the original Broadway album and the studio recording featuring Maria Friedman and Jonathan Pryce among others; nor is it the cheapest – the London revival cast recording with Wayne Sleep is a snip at five pounds. ... ...on stage at the eponymous cabaret are included, and these are all accompanied by the small band one would expect to find in such an establishment. This does mean that the album is fairly short, only twelve tracks long, and that some of Cabaret’s best numbers are not included. This makes it an appalling choice if you want to buy something to remind you of the stage show, but it is a fine record of the film score and is an easier listen than ...
