Being a huuuuuge Sex and the city fan i jumped at the chance to buy this album, not only can I watch them on screen, I can listen to all the classic songs as well. It is the perfect gift for any sex and the city fan, or anyone that likes good music.
It comes as a 2 disc set here is the play list for each disc;

2.Beyonce-Work it out
3.Justin Timberlake-Cry me a river

... ...was the last ever song played was not included. But even with this slight disadvantage I do rate this CD very high, and an absolute MUST for any Sex and the City fan, its the perfect thing to relive those moments with Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte and Samantha ...

The begger's opera for threepence
Advantages: Masterpiece of musical theatre Disadvantages: Ending is little too "all lived happily ever after"
The Threepenny Opera transforms opera to the musical theatre. Originally adapted from John Gay’s The Beggar’s opera in 1928, to Die Dreigroschenoper, by German composer Kurt Weill and lyricist Bertolt Brecht, the score weaves together elements of grand opera with cabaret and jazz. The English translation and adaptation was then completed by Marc Blitzstein in 1954.
Brecht met Weill in 1927, when the two men discussed using the genre of opera to ... ...A CD of the Threepenny Opera can be purchased for £12.99 from most good music stores. It was released on the Decca label on 14th February 2000.
The opera tells the story of the murderering gangster, MacHeath aka Mac the Knife. Set in London's criminal underworld in the 1930s. It opens in Jonathan Peachum’s shop. Peachum runs a business clothing beggars and providing them with a location to beg in for a share in the profits. “A man who sees another ...

Loud and ludicrous!!
Advantages: Rock at its best with an interesting tour thrown in! Disadvantages: Probably helps to be a Maiden fan.
"Iron Maiden: Flight 666" follows the rock band Iron Maiden on their last tour. Nut this is no ordinary tour! Having been told by accountants constantly that certain locations were too expensive to play Bruce Dickinson, the band's singer, hit upon the idea that if they flew directly to anywhere with an airport, joining the dots across the globe, they could complete the most insane rock tour ever planned! Being a trained pilot himself who better to ... ...did. Already impressed you then will see the band, its entire road crew (who are quite obviously insane) and their entire kit, 70 tonnes of it, fly across 5 continents over 45 days, cover fifty thousand miles and perform 23 huge gigs in India, Australia, Japan, USA, Canada, Mexico and South America. I'm a huge fan and have been for a long, long time (since me Dad bought me Number of the Beast in 1986!) but this film will interest anyone with an interest ...

I couldn't have put it better myself
Advantages: authentic, soulful, featuring stars Disadvantages: expensive, without key band members, rough
The title of the CD, in my opinion, fits perfectly. The Funk Brothers, I am convinced after listening to the tracks that they were the unsung heros. Just listen to way that the snare drum is tuned each song to fit the key. Just listen to the way the musicians can combine funk and soul into one complete package. Just listen to how close the tambourine is in your eears.
'Standing In The Shadows Of Motown' is, in my opinion a great film and the soundtrack ... ...from the Funk Brothers are there and there are some very special guests indeed. Chaka Kahn & Montell Jordan provide an uplifting duet for the song Ain't No Mountain High Enough after Ben Harper provides a subtly smooth version of I Heard It Through The Grapevine.
However, as touched upon before, many of The Funk Brothers are sadly not with us today and therefore not on the recording. Overall, this CD is great for those who are obsessed with motown, ...

Soul Diva Sings Jazz & Blues
Advantages: The wonderful tracks My Man, Don't Explain etc Disadvantages: The dialogue interupts musical flow
Lady Sings The Blues premiered to an eager, anticipating audience in October 1972. The public flocked in droves to the cinemas to see this much-hyped film, whilst critics watched intensley and eagerly sharpened their pencils. Soul singer and Motown legend, Diana Ross controversially took the role of the tortured Jazz legend, Billie Holiday and deservedly won wide critical acclaim for her harrowing and riviting performance in the film which subsequently ... ...Other highlights on the Lady Sings The Blues soundtrack (1972)range from the sassy Gimme A Pigfoot And A Bottle Of Beer, an almost frivoulous song, seemingly screaming out about fun and rebellion, to the playful tone of Love Is Here To Stay, to the restrained anguish in her voice on You're Mean To Me and to her more bubbly presentation of What A Little Moonlight Can Do. Diana displays such yearning naievity which was so true to Billies style on I ...
