...the 1936 screenplay adaptation, The Last of the Mohicans was a powerhouse movie, starring Daniel Day-Lewis as the frontier scout Hawk-eye, a white man raised amongst the Delaware Indians. With the help of his Mohican friends Chingachgook and Uncas he now helps the two daughters of a military commander to their father in the middle of warfare with the French and their recruited Indian allies the Hurons, headed by the wicked Magua. Directed by Michael ... ...empty dialogue stretches.
The Last of the Mohicans is one of those strange occurrances when a composer has been replaced by another in mid-production. Trevor Jones was originally hired for the job for which he wrote his arguably best known theme. After completing a lion's share of the work he was suddenly replaced by Randy Edelman whose more lightweight music provided a completely different feel to the more orchestral Jones part. I'm not exactly ...

...a performance of Blood Brothers without crying (which has been quite a few times!!) and the soundtrack brings back many of those feelings!

Barry Manilow's Copacabana was welcomed with great enthusiasm when it hit the West End as a Musical. I was lucky enough to see this musical and it has gone down with me as one of the best I have ever seen, and I have seen a few.
You may wonder how a song like Copacabana could be made into a musical, but with over 2 and a half hours of great music, Copacabana was just the tip of the Iceberg. The music in this show was full of energy, humour, some ... ...lyrics .
The Copacabana Story

Standing with her suitcases, many other girls start to join her from other trains ...

...a catalyst for future musicals. Cats became London's longest-running musical in 1989 when it played its 3358th performance at the New London Theatre. In 1996 it became the longest running musical ever to play in the West End or on Broadway. It is probably Lord Lloyd Webber's best known work.
Thankfully we managed to see the production London Company on it's farewell tour at the Edinburgh Playhouse Theatre about 2 years ago and we will always treasure ... ...when the tribe of Jellicle Cats reunites to celebrate who they are. The cats emerge one by one, singing of their unique abilities and special traits in a fusion of poetry and dance. But the cats are not alone - humans (the audience) are present in the cats' private world. The cats are at first reluctant and suspicious to include others in their domain. They are proud, however, and they explain to their human visitors who they are and reveal that ...
