Advantages: Trevor Jones Disadvantages: Randy Edelman
...the 1936 screenplay adaptation, The Last of the Mohicans was a powerhouse movie, starring Daniel Day-Lewis as the frontier scout Hawk-eye, a white man raised amongst the Delaware Indians. With the help of his Mohican friends Chingachgook and Uncas he now helps the two daughters of a military commander to their father in the middle of warfare with the French and their recruited Indian allies the Hurons, headed by the wicked Magua. Directed by Michael ... ...empty dialogue stretches.
The Last of the Mohicans is one of those strange occurrances when a composer has been replaced by another in mid-production. Trevor Jones was originally hired for the job for which he wrote his arguably best known theme. After completing a lion's share of the work he was suddenly replaced by Randy Edelman whose more lightweight music provided a completely different feel to the more orchestral Jones part. I'm not exactly ...
Tarzan was another good Disney film but the thing that stuck me about it was its outstanding music written by the talented Phil Collins. Phil Collins has an exceptional music talent. His song writing ability is truly brilliant.
I doubt it if anyone can't name a song in a Disney film. Songs in Disney films have something special and Tarzan is certainly no different. In fact, the music in Tarzan, in my opinion, one of Disney's best.
People who don't ... ...listen to is as they may believe the music is childish. Let me tell you, the music is certainly not childish so don't let that put you off getting the album.
The songs in this album are really powerful. The lyrics are very thought provoking as well.
When you first here the songs they are just good songs but the more you listen to them the more they grow on you and before you know it you are truly blown away by the music.
Most of the songs have ...
Advantages: Good souvenir for fans Disadvantages: Very similar to original "Quadrophenia" album
Described as one of the most "powerful British films ever made," you would expect more from this album than just a re-release of an album with a few chops and changes. However, it does serve as an appropriate souvenir of the film, and the new songs "Joker James" and "Four Faces" gives you the extra bonus material that the original "Quadrophenia" album doesn't provide. Decent tracks included the first "I Am the Sea," "Helpless Boy" and "Joker James" ...
Advantages: it's collectable and great for all lovers of music and movies Disadvantages: the album cover
...just throw in a random Hellboy punching the floor picture holding his Samaritan gun, and then placing the Hellboy logo at the bottom. That to me says yeah he/she sort of tried but, could not spread his/her wings cause he/she was limited to that crappy album cover.I gotta admit I could not do any better but, it should have been Hellboy with his full horns and flames wrapped around him.Or him holding a cat with the whole Hellboy team standing behind ... ...make you jump with the great force that Elfman's music has.On most songs the stringed instruments really seem to hit you in the face with there amazing sound. Overall the CD is a great success and any Hellboy fan or lovers of classic and theatre music should enjoy this masterpiece. ...
Advantages: Keeps the mood of the film Disadvantages: None whatsoever
This album is every bit as amazing as the film itself. It doesn't matter what music genre you're into, this soundtrack will appeal to you. The thing I love about this album is that every song on it, you can remember hearing it in the film. Let's be honest. There is nothing more annoying than buying a soundtrack to find that the songs you like aren't on it. Or worse, it has songs you didn't even hear in the film.
Well don't worry about this one.
... ...group, Leftfield. It also happens to be the first song of the film. There are two songs in the compilation which I feel helped create the ambience of the entire movie. These being 'Pure Shores' by All Saints and 'Porcelain' by Moby. I don't think you can listen to these songs without immediately thinking of The Beach as they fit in so well with the whole setting.
One track in particular, for me anyway, really gives you the feeling of being on the ...
