Chicago - Original Soundtrack Advantages: Great songs to sing-a-long to! Disadvantages: Pointless bonus tracks ...those who enjoyed the musical Chicago or those who enjoy jazzy musicals. I think that this CD is great value for money. It is for sale on Amazon UK for £4.97. For this price you get 18 tracks. 16 of the tracks are fantastic but the two bonus tracks I find unnecessary. Track listings 1. Overture / And All That Jazz - Catherine Zeta-Jones, Female Chorus, Male Chorus 2. Funny Honey - Renee Zellweger, John C. Reilly, Colm Feore 3. When You're Good ... ...and Taye Diggs. I think that the actresses and actors sing really well in Chicago but Catherine Zeta Jones is fantastic. Renee Zellweger is a little weaker than Catherine but is still great. Overall I would recommend this CD to anyone who enjoys Chicago the musical. Cabaret belongs to Joel Grey Advantages: One of the best musical scores ever; Joel Grey Disadvantages: Not enough of the score... ...least six professional recordings of Cabaret available, this being the recording from the 1972 film version featuring Joel Grey and Liza Minelli. It isn’t the best of the recordings available – that is a toss-up between the original Broadway album and the studio recording featuring Maria Friedman and Jonathan Pryce among others; nor is it the cheapest – the London revival cast recording with Wayne Sleep is a snip at five pounds. ... ...on stage at the eponymous cabaret are included, and these are all accompanied by the small band one would expect to find in such an establishment. This does mean that the album is fairly short, only twelve tracks long, and that some of Cabaret’s best numbers are not included. This makes it an appalling choice if you want to buy something to remind you of the stage show, but it is a fine record of the film score and is an easier listen than ... Roxy Rocks & All that Jazz Advantages: Fantastic remake of the original show Disadvantages: Miss Sunshine (bleugh) "Ladies and Gentlemen. You are about to see a story of murder, greed, corruption, violence, exploitation, adultery and treachery" Thus begins the recording of the 1998 London Cast & stars Ute Lemper & Ruthie Henshall. It is a quality remake of the original show, with a more funked up jazz feel and a hotter edge. Many of these show stopping tunes are instantly recognisable, with tunes such as All that Jazz, Mr Cellophane and Razzle Dazzle. Hot Jazz and Cold Blooded Murder - FAB! Advantages: You get the story just by listening to the CD Disadvantages: Are there any? I loved every minute of this album. The songs are so catchy and incredibly brilliant! I can definitely see why it won a Grammy in 2004 for the best compilation soundtrack album. The listing for the soundtrack is as follows: 1. High Fives all round! Advantages: good mix, energetic, fun Disadvantages: / When I was a bit younger, I used to watch Australian kids show Hi 5 on Milkshake every morning religiously before school. It is a programme aimed at pre-school and primary school children, teaching them various things through the methods of song and dance. Naturally, there are five presenters, all of which are Australian. Okay so the education side is a bit young fo rme, but I do find the music very entertaining on the show! Now I do not have the ... ...I did buy one of their several albums. This one was Hi 5 Hits. This album is very attractive, a very colourful cover with little cartoon images of the band: Nathan Foley, Charley Delaney, Tim Harding, Kellie Crawford (then Hoggart), and Kathleen de Leon. It is very bright and draws your attention in for sure! Looking on the back I noticed there were a total of twenty one songs. I will let you discover the wonders of them all yourself, but to give ...
