Advantages: A pure, raw and brilliantly original cd. Disadvantages: N/A
One of the most historic and successful shows produced by Andrew Lloyd Weber and Tim Rice. This recording pre Madonna's film version still remains a classic and a sure fire hit. This original compilation two cd version of the show allows for a lot of open interpretations to these now recognised classic songs, with top notch performances from Julie Covington, Paul Jones and even Tony Christie. A very emotional yet raw production that shows the quality ...
Advantages: Lots of emotions and antonios Banderas voice Disadvantages: Mostly slow songs, some depressing
This soundtrack and film shows a surprising amount of vocal talent for crowned quuen of pop. I have always been a fan but this is the other end of the spectrum formher usuall `holiday` and `whose that girl` days.
Maddona shows that she can act a powerful role and hold a powerful and emotional tune which does Andrew Lloyd Webber proud.
Every song is full of emotion, songs such as `you must love me`, another suitcase another hall and the classic ... ...get wrapped up inthe emotion and feel the triumph but sadness of the charecters.
There is the slightly depressing `requiem for evita' but completely fitting for the film.
We also have a sample of the lovely Antonia Banderas voice in ` oh what a circus, which he carries of with his lovely ancent, and makes a change from the other slow down beat songs.
The albulm is full of well written songs which forms a well fiting soundtrack for the film. ...

Review of Evita - Madonna
Advantages: Elfman's most magical creation and a true masterpiece Disadvantages: The Tom Jones song at the end
...Vincent Price as "The Inventor," Edward Scissorhands is a fairy-tale like fantasy about a strange artificial man with scissors for hands. From his lofty castle on top of a hill, he is whisked away by a cosmetic's saleswoman straight into the suburbs where he is greeted with interest and wonder. It won't be long however when people start turning against him due to his naïve trust in others and his sharp scissorhands that cause a few unintentional ... ...last entry of the year, Edward Scissorhands. In between his darkly gothic and quirky early style, Edward Scissorhands amazes you with its sweetly dream-like and gentle quality. It is music that is at all times hauntingly beautiful and lyrical, never really becoming unbearable or unlistenable. It is the most touching and personal of Elfman's scores, imbued with a nostalgic sorrow of great beauty.
There are two elements in particular that really define ...
Advantages: you know that you are getting the best Disadvantages: i think he does work best with Tim Burton, so is't not a disadvantage here
...most remarkable aspect of the Edward Scissorhands score is its ability to tell a story in and of itself. The album takes you on the journey of this fable with masterful precision. Emotions are never absent --nor are the fairy tale thematic and choral elements. Rarely missing for longer than a few minutes, the boy's chorus brilliantly carries the innocence and imaginative elements of the story. Track 15, "The Grand Finale" is easily among the ten ... ...the chorus, thematic development, and a heart-wrenching emotional climax into a dazzling, magical experience. Danny Elfman is the best at what he does, combine him with Tim Burton and you have pure magic the list is to long to name but just take The nightmare before christmas and Corpse Bridse, these 2 minds togeter will continue too bring us the best that there is to offer. ...
Advantages: Good cast whose lines will have you rolling in the aisles Disadvantages: Good cast wasted on a completely cack film. Plotless, one-dimensional and unfathomable
...film, appears to hold a secret that everyone in the film seems to want to know. By the time you get to the end of this very long film neither the viewer nor any of the cast appear to know what this AMAZING secret is. The film is burdened by plot changes, an awful script and the general feeling that none of the cast appear to enjoy being part of the film. Add to this the terribly annoying background music, designed to add mystery to the film, and ... ...wooden that if it rained on set the actors would rot. When the camera is covered in sand (which it frequently is throughout the film, obscurring the actual scenes) it is a blessing. However the fight scenes are quite good. I never did figure out why there appears to be thousands of horses in the film and only a couple of camels though.
The best actors in this film are undeniably the snakes (a rubber snake which a careful viewer will observe being ...
