Vietnam meets Wagner Advantages: Great choice of tracks to accompany the film Disadvantages: No Beatles (revoution/helter skelter etc!!) You have to admire Francis Coppola's nerve - using everything in his record collection from The Doors to Richard Wagner to accompany his breathtaking vision of the Vietnam war on acid. From the opening scene, with his brilliant use of Morrison's 'The End' you instantly get the feel of this movie, you aren't in for an easy ride. Bottle it and sell it. Advantages: Well chosen tracks that ellicit an emotional response every time Disadvantages: Just not enough even with 16 tracks This is one of those rare soundtracks that really pulls together a host of highly bankable artists without any of them really stealing the show. Whoever had the happy job of deciding on the soundtrack for this film either has excellent taste or just plain old understands how to put together a truly great collection of music. As a result of buying this sound track I have gone on to buy CDs from artists like Hootie & the Blowfish, and Sinead Lohan ... ...but for their inclusion here and I have to say I have not been disappointed. The film itself, unusual for its anti-hollywood ending, was noteable in the fact that none of the tracks pulled attention from the story line or stole the scenes and to be honest the best way to enjoy the soundtrack is separately. This isn't a complaint. Album Chart Raider Advantages: Some excellent. modern songs. Disadvantages: Many of the songs are unknown. The Tomb Raider album is one of the best movie soundtrack albums of the new century. It has a great blend of songs, ranging from the quick and slick rapping of MC Neutrino to the high-pitched voice of Bono from U2. I recommend this album to any potential buyers and if you have seen the movie you will notice some of these songs played in the background of some of the fighting scenes. Sweet as Honey Advantages: brilliant track list Disadvantages: age of songs and expensive Having been a big fan of the film, I opted out of buying the soundtrack origionally due to wanting to wait for the DVD release and not having much money to throw around! Having gotten the DVD and watched it a number of times, i changed my mind. I wanted to listen to the music - especially the final track, 'I believe'. Having now bought it I'm really pleased with it. Yolanda Adams' I believe is as gripping as it is on the film, and all I want to ... ...know the dance too!! There are a few other songs in there that I really like aswel such as Blaque - I'm Good and Tamia - It's A Party, amongst others that are the perfect warm-up tunes for going out! Bought for £11.99 off of play.com it wasn't as cheap as I expected, but saying that I couldn't be bothered to shop about so just went for the first price I saw! High Fives all round! Advantages: good mix, energetic, fun Disadvantages: / When I was a bit younger, I used to watch Australian kids show Hi 5 on Milkshake every morning religiously before school. It is a programme aimed at pre-school and primary school children, teaching them various things through the methods of song and dance. Naturally, there are five presenters, all of which are Australian. Okay so the education side is a bit young fo rme, but I do find the music very entertaining on the show! Now I do not have the ... ...I did buy one of their several albums. This one was Hi 5 Hits. This album is very attractive, a very colourful cover with little cartoon images of the band: Nathan Foley, Charley Delaney, Tim Harding, Kellie Crawford (then Hoggart), and Kathleen de Leon. It is very bright and draws your attention in for sure! Looking on the back I noticed there were a total of twenty one songs. I will let you discover the wonders of them all yourself, but to give ...
