one of the greatest soundtracks
Review of Cruel Intentions - Original Soundtrack by
lenak
Advantages: great alternative artists
Disadvantages: poor inside content
when i first saw the film at the movies i couldn't believe that it could be a movie remembered not for the performances or the story but for it's music. Placebo, Fatboy slim, Blur, Counting crows, Faithless, Verve and so many other great artists can be found in this cd. If nothing else, buy this soundtrack only to remember the scene at the funeral where you could hear the bitter sweet symphony by the verve.
There can always be people who say that ...

Soulful
Review of Commitments Vol.1, The - Original Soundtrack by
Sandra24
Advantages: Catchy songs
Disadvantages: None really
...soundtrack to the movie The Commitments and that instantly took me back more than ten years. The movie with the same name (which in turn is based on a novel by the famous Irish writer Roddy Doyle) is about a group of young people in Ireland who decide to put a band together, and even though this is not a review about the film it is near impossible to write a review of the soundtrack without mentioning the film, especially in this case as the film ... ...the things that made The Commitments such a success is the voice of Andrew Strong, the lead singer in the group. It's a well known fact that he was only 16 years old when the movie, and subsequently the album, was made which to this day I find astonishing. Not only does he look a lot older, his voice is mature and it sounds as though he has lived on a diet of whisky and cigarettes for a decade. Even though he is not the only singer on the album I ...

Could any soundtrack compete with that film?
Review of Bridget Jones's Diary (Music From The Motion Picture) - Original Soundtrack by
Smiley_Scarly
Advantages: Great mixture of songs to suit everyone
Disadvantages: No-one would like all the songs.
The Bridget Jones sountrack. Well, it's made up of 19 songs. Some are older than me, (though I am only 16, so it's not that amazing). Some are from the late 90s, early 00s (do you call is 00s? I never know). Some are fast, some slow. Some about being happily in love; others about coping with a broken heart. It is a mixture of everything, really. Because of that, it suits everyone a little. There are songs on the album that I know and love, but there ... ...more than the others, to Bridget and Mark. They were both waiting to meet someone like the other one, and then they did. It's a slow song - good for a slow dance, and it's very romantic.
10. Robbie Williams - Not of this earth
A slow song for Robbie and I don't really think it shows the amazing voice he has. Not one of the best songs on the album, as the lyrics aren't great and the tune is poor, as well. It is slow and romantic though - another ...

How Does She Know You Love Her?

Advantages: Hear the songs and specially written score again! Sing along!
Disadvantages: Songs separated from the score; you need to program CD player to relive experience.

~~~ ENCHANTED ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK ~~~
~~Songs by Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz; Score by Alan Menken~~
I was brought up in a family dominated by classical music, hymns, songs and tunes from Gilbert and Sullivan; nursery rhymes and barbershop quartets; Burl Ives and Spike Jones. Everything was always a cue for a song, or one of us was practicing the piano. I am not very good at describing music, as l mostly let it pass ... ...of the film, the entire soundtrack as performed in the film really carried the show, setting moods excellently. l really don't understand genre ~ this is a Disney fairytale ~ but any attempt to classify genre is an over-simplification, as the different moods and themes, like life, are a combination of genres, and don't really pigeon-hole easily.
I will try to express my feelings without giving away the plot and nuances of the film. The film centres ...
Timeless Masterpiece
Review of Jonathan Livingstone Seagull - Neil Diamond by
Cecilia
Advantages: Excellent listening
Disadvantages: None
...timeless and completely original.
Jonathan Livingston Seagull Is an incredible piece of work. I have not seen the film that this soundtrack belongs to, as I was very young then.
My Father loved Neil Diamond and I grew up listening to his music. I am grateful to my father for his excellent taste.
You can never be too young to listen to this. I am a person who enjoys Rock, Reggae and was a teenager in the eighties and loved that music but I have ... ...how old it may be.
If you haven’t done so yet, take the time to listen to this, you’ll wonder why you never did it before.
This CD is very relaxing and soothing and at the same time very deep and powerful. His voice is so powerful and versatile. Some of the tracks run into each other and vary from a slow to a fast tempo.
It is very difficult to find the words to do justice to someone like Neil Diamond. He puts everything into his music. ...
