Advantages: Lots of emotions and antonios Banderas voice Disadvantages: Mostly slow songs, some depressing
This soundtrack and film shows a surprising amount of vocal talent for crowned quuen of pop. I have always been a fan but this is the other end of the spectrum formher usuall `holiday` and `whose that girl` days.
Maddona shows that she can act a powerful role and hold a powerful and emotional tune which does Andrew Lloyd Webber proud.
Every song is full of emotion, songs such as `you must love me`, another suitcase another hall and the classic ... ...get wrapped up inthe emotion and feel the triumph but sadness of the charecters.
There is the slightly depressing `requiem for evita' but completely fitting for the film.
We also have a sample of the lovely Antonia Banderas voice in ` oh what a circus, which he carries of with his lovely ancent, and makes a change from the other slow down beat songs.
The albulm is full of well written songs which forms a well fiting soundtrack for the film. ...

Review of Evita - Madonna
Advantages: One of the best musical scores ever; Joel Grey Disadvantages: Not enough of the score...
...least six professional recordings of Cabaret available, this being the recording from the 1972 film version featuring Joel Grey and Liza Minelli. It isn’t the best of the recordings available – that is a toss-up between the original Broadway album and the studio recording featuring Maria Friedman and Jonathan Pryce among others; nor is it the cheapest – the London revival cast recording with Wayne Sleep is a snip at five pounds. ... ...on stage at the eponymous cabaret are included, and these are all accompanied by the small band one would expect to find in such an establishment. This does mean that the album is fairly short, only twelve tracks long, and that some of Cabaret’s best numbers are not included. This makes it an appalling choice if you want to buy something to remind you of the stage show, but it is a fine record of the film score and is an easier listen than ...

...a circle with the words Hello Dolly going around the edge of the circle.
Of course you have the voice of a very young Micheal Crawford, but he did manage to sound quite reasonable and hasn't he improved with age. After seeing him in "Phantom of the Opera" who would have thought that the gawky boy in Hello Dolly would end up becoming such a renowned star of screen and stage.
We also must not forget the wonderful Walter Matthau who played such a ... ...voice in the world.
If you haven't seen the film that this soundtrack comes from (though I cannot think of anyone who hasn't), it is all set in New York City and Yonkers, New York. Barbra Streisand as Dolly Levi, the matchmaker who is trying to match up Walter Matthau (Horace Vandergelder) with a wife, but Dolly Levi ends up snaring Horace for herself, and at the same time manages to fix up two young couples - Michael Crawford/Marianne McAndrew ...
Advantages: Good cast whose lines will have you rolling in the aisles Disadvantages: Good cast wasted on a completely cack film. Plotless, one-dimensional and unfathomable
...film, appears to hold a secret that everyone in the film seems to want to know. By the time you get to the end of this very long film neither the viewer nor any of the cast appear to know what this AMAZING secret is. The film is burdened by plot changes, an awful script and the general feeling that none of the cast appear to enjoy being part of the film. Add to this the terribly annoying background music, designed to add mystery to the film, and ... ...wooden that if it rained on set the actors would rot. When the camera is covered in sand (which it frequently is throughout the film, obscurring the actual scenes) it is a blessing. However the fight scenes are quite good. I never did figure out why there appears to be thousands of horses in the film and only a couple of camels though.
The best actors in this film are undeniably the snakes (a rubber snake which a careful viewer will observe being ...
