The one and only Streisand Advantages: Great Music Disadvantages: None ...a circle with the words Hello Dolly going around the edge of the circle. Of course you have the voice of a very young Micheal Crawford, but he did manage to sound quite reasonable and hasn't he improved with age. After seeing him in "Phantom of the Opera" who would have thought that the gawky boy in Hello Dolly would end up becoming such a renowned star of screen and stage. We also must not forget the wonderful Walter Matthau who played such a ... ...voice in the world. If you haven't seen the film that this soundtrack comes from (though I cannot think of anyone who hasn't), it is all set in New York City and Yonkers, New York. Barbra Streisand as Dolly Levi, the matchmaker who is trying to match up Walter Matthau (Horace Vandergelder) with a wife, but Dolly Levi ends up snaring Horace for herself, and at the same time manages to fix up two young couples - Michael Crawford/Marianne McAndrew ... Hairspray makes even those that dont like singing smile Advantages: one that can change your mood Disadvantages: limited target audience ...a cast! what a soundtrack! Hairspray is very lucky that it got remade otherwise so many people would have missed out on such a wonderful soundtrack. A lot should be said about the great casting efforts which made it possible. Most people rushed out to see such a great hollywood cast in what seemed an odd musical for them. I mean, Travolta as a lady? But what a surprise! Each and everyone of them was able to hold a note succesfully and pull together ... ...i play this on my ipod all the time and i end up bopping along and often looking a little odd on the bus but it just lightens my mood immediately! I must say that it does have a limited target audience and i wouldnt suggest that metallica fans rush out and buy it. High Fives all round! Advantages: good mix, energetic, fun Disadvantages: / When I was a bit younger, I used to watch Australian kids show Hi 5 on Milkshake every morning religiously before school. It is a programme aimed at pre-school and primary school children, teaching them various things through the methods of song and dance. Naturally, there are five presenters, all of which are Australian. Okay so the education side is a bit young fo rme, but I do find the music very entertaining on the show! Now I do not have the ... ...I did buy one of their several albums. This one was Hi 5 Hits. This album is very attractive, a very colourful cover with little cartoon images of the band: Nathan Foley, Charley Delaney, Tim Harding, Kellie Crawford (then Hoggart), and Kathleen de Leon. It is very bright and draws your attention in for sure! Looking on the back I noticed there were a total of twenty one songs. I will let you discover the wonders of them all yourself, but to give ... How High would this reach? Advantages: good songs, good price Disadvantages: generally appeals only to HSM fans ...while to catch on to High School Musical. In fact, I ended up seeing High School Musical 3 before I saw the first two! Though I have now caught myself up and along with that I am becoming more familiar with the songs. In an attempt to fully connect with the music, I found myself borrowing the CDs from a friend. One of which was of course the High School Musical 2 CD soundtrack. The album can be recognized by its aqua blue cover. On the front, 'High ... ...you are a fan of High School Musical, but I will admit that it is not one I would rush out and buy myself. It is a good CD to listen to if you were given it as a gift or, in my case, if you borrow it from a friend. Though I feel you should only spend money on it if you know you are going to like it and you do like High School Musical!
