Varekai is another superb Cirque Du Soleil masterpiece. I took my family to this show in the Royal Albert Hall (Grandparents, Parents and kids aged 12 and 8) and they all thoroughly enjoyed the show. The show runs in London until 10th February so book now if you want to see something quite different but spectacular.
For people who have never been to one of Cirque's performances it is difficult to describe so here goes! Varekai is a beautiful combination ... ...Think of it as a very modern day circus style show with amazingly talented performers in breathtaking costumes with a specific theme throughout.
The set design is fantastic and based on the inside of a forest. The forest is made up of vertical bamboo sticks which soar into the Royal Albert's dome. So what is Avenue Q? Well to be as basic as I can, it is a Sesame Street parody although this really isn't the best of descriptions one can give it. While you do ... ...street in New York called Avenue Q and it all begins when a recent graduate, Princeton, moves out of home and looks to start life on his own. You are greeted with the first song, "It Sucks to be Me" which also introduced the rest of the cast - Brian, Christmas Eve, Nicky, Rod, Kate Monsters, Trekkie Monster and Gary Coleman. In some cases you can really see what the writers were trying to parody - Nicky and Rod are the equivalent of Bert and Ernie ...

An overall good CD. I ordered the CD off of the internet after watching the film (seeing as I couldn't find it anywhere in the shops) and was pleased with the songs on it. There are 12 songs on it which is a decent amount of song to listen to, so conent wise, the CD is great.
I have owned other CD's like this one, such as the Pokémon CD. I was expecting it to be quite cheesy, but when I listened to the whole CD I found that it was much more than ... ...sounding songs on but also a mix of the good old cheesy happy songs (which are always good to duel by if you play the card game). The CD is attractive to look at and also has a well designed case. I would recommend this CD to all people who liked the movie or to anyone who likes the happy pop punk like songs that are usually on cartoon film soundtracks. A good CD and worth the money I paid for it. ...

Quick history of Hair: Hair was the brain-child of american hippy actors James Rado and Jerome Ragni. The story line is a little bit rough. (I'm not even sure that the writers knew what it was about, but thats one of the charming things about) I think it best just to quote a small section from the sleeve to give you an idea of what its about.
"Hair is a McLuhan ... ...all the other kids in Hair have the confusions and hangups of the young, but they're clear about a few basic matters. They're Anti-war, anti-dishonesty, pro-life, pro-love, pro-sex, pro-joy, pro-music, pro-color, pro-fantasy. They see the up-tight "rational" world of the older generation as hypocritical, stupidly restrictive amd ultimately cruel and violent."

This track is pretty much just an insight into the film. I found it pretty weird to have this on a soundtrack, as it's Freddie Highmore talking over a piece of music about the story, however it does work for people who have seen the film as they know what he's talking about and why it's such a special ... ...(2:27)
This is where August 'follows' the music into a church and hears this being preformed by the church 'choir'. It stars off with a guy whose got a gorgeous voice, but he is outshone when a little 8/9 year old starts to sing. Jamia Simone Nash is absolutely fantastic, for such a young girl she manages to capture the magic of this song and sing it beautifully.
