...this cd is good for sharpe fans as it just instantly brings to mind the gorgeous Sean Bean and gets me in the mood for historical adventures of passion and honour and glorious battles!! However its also great for non-sharpe addicts too especially if they like folk music, as there are some really beautiful songs here, nice for background music or to play more loudly for the passionate ones. when i first saw the film at the movies i couldn't believe that it could be a movie remembered not for the performances or the story but for it's music. Placebo, Fatboy slim, Blur, Counting crows, Faithless, Verve and so many other great artists can be found in this cd. If nothing else, buy this soundtrack only to remember the scene at the funeral where you could hear the bitter sweet symphony by the verve. There can always be people who say that ... Read review

If you've seen the movie, and love the music in it, pick up this single disc reissue of the original classic 2-LP album. I have the original record album and played it quite frequently. It's good to hnag on to, but in the past year I bought this single disc and don't have to worry about this getting worn out. All the original songs from the film are here. The Bridget Jones sountrack. Well, it's made up of 19 songs. Some are older than me, (though I am only 16, so it's not that amazing). Some are from the late 90s, early 00s (do you call is 00s? I never know). Some are fast, some slow. Some about being happily in love; others about coping with a broken heart. It is a mixture of everything, really. Because of that, it suits everyone a little. I have this soundtrack and I have to be honest and say that although I thought the movie was a bit cheesy the music on here is great. I particularly love the Lauren Wood - Fallen track which I think is really quite beautiful and very soothing. Rested against a bit of Bowie and Roy Orbison and this is a really fun soundtrack that'll please any one on a road trip. It's great when I've got a long distance to drive and with such a mix of musical styles ...

I think it's probably one of the best all round soundtracks I've ever heard in film terms and considering I've watched literally thousands I'd say that's a real compliment to the producers of this CD.
