Inspired by some of the songs that were performed in the third season of Ally, I decided to buy their Christmas CD "A very Ally Christmas". I got it from play.com for 5.99 with free delivery. That's the best offer I could find on the internet, but I'm happy to get advice where to look next time... ;-)
The CD was just delivered today and has since ... ...roommate Renee in the series Ally McBeal. Those of you, who have seen a few episodes will know that she isn't very reluctant to perform the one or other song on stage. So therefore my expectations were fairly high, and I'm sorry to say that they weren't quite met. Her voice sounds rather squeaky and this song surely doesn't show her full potential.

Personally, not being a real avid fan of the old Dawsons Creek myself i cant really comment on the show much but there are some very moving scenes that require the "slushiest" soft rock ballards. This is generally what you should expect to find on this album! I also bought only the second volume, i cannot comment on the 1st volume!
I bought this album purley for the second song on the album; Evan and Jaron, Crazy For This Girl. You may have heard ... ...but couldnt find it anywhere and i was keener on buying this compilation rather than the Evan and Jaron album.
The album itself has been noted at around the £11 version in places like the virgin megastore. I however seem to be one of the lucky ones. In my opinion, if you loved the film, you will love the soundtrack! I thought the covers on this album were brilliant, such as Will Young's version of Your Love Is King, and Mary J Blige's version of Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word. Some of the songs on this album are very "mushy", but personally I see this as a bonus (let's face it, the film is pretty mushy and girly but that's what we love about it) and there are some more uplifting, upbeat ... ...by The Darkness.
The highlight of the album in my opinion, is I Eat Dinner. It is such a beautiful song and I'm so glad they included it in both the film and the soundtrack. I like the fact that the album consists of songs which have been huge hits, aswell as some great songs which most people will not have heard before, not forgtting the amazing covers.
Overall, the CD is definitely worth the money, and I would certainly recommend this soundtrack ...
