...styles of music. This song was a massive hit in 1968 a couple of weeks prior to the release of Hey Jude. At the time Jimmy's song was unprecedentedly long. Hey Jude, when released, was one second longer. No coincidence according to Jimmy who had visited the Beatles at Abbey road around this time.
It must be conceeded that Jimmy's music is not loved by all, it is very much a love or hate thing. A perfect demonstration of this is the fact that MacArthur Park occassionally turns up in the 'Worst Song Ever' polls that are sometimes conducted. Some people just don't get him, and that's fine, it's all down to personal taste.

...this is one of the greatest albums ever. its in your face full on punk look at life. johnny rotten(vocals) , sid vicious(bass) glen matlock(bass) , paul cook(drums) and steve jones(guitar) were the sex pistols this 1977 album is still listend too by many people but most people frown upon it because of the profanity on the cover. it has 12 awesomely uniqe songs on it rangeing from god save the queen too holiday in the sun. i found listening too it an enjoy ment and would recomend it to anyone. it was one of the pistols first albums and is a really good album if ya just wanna chill out or if ya gettin ready too go out on a night on the town...
