Scarface (Music inspired by the movie) - Various Artists

Advantages: A few scarface film samples
Disadvantages: Nearly the whole thing

of drug references and average rhymes 10 Crack Commandments - Notorious BIG. A song taken from BIGs Life After Death, probably the worst song on that and this album. Its just a list relating to drug deals making reference to the line, never get high on your own supply. Poor production that im sure has been used since Mr Scarface - Scarface. Ok i take it back this is the worst one. Originally released in 91 so its dated beats dont mix well with the up to date rap Streets Is Watching - Jay Z. Taken from Jay Z's In My Lifetime album. Good intelligent raps, street warfare and feuds discussed here. Not his best track but not bad Dopeman - NWA.A 1989 release added here and classic beats along with the old rap supergroup. Not really a lot going on but its NWA so you pay attention Criminology - Ghostface Killah & Raekwon. A Rza produced ...

Review of Scarface (Music Inspired By The Movie) [PA] - Various Artists

Rinse vol 2 mixed by Skream-Pretty heavy!!

Advantages: Good selection of skream tracks
Disadvantages: the frequencies tend to stay in the same conceptual space too often

This mix is quite a hefty run through of all the big tracks of 2007 in the world of Dub-step (which is a relatively new but ever-increasingly popular music genre). The sound is from London and the UK (which is where most of the producers on the mix come from. The tracks are based upon what DJ Skream likes personally and what he plays at DJ sets (or was in the 2007-2008 period). Kulture kicks off the mix with a reggae infuse synth bassline rizing track which gets the energy levels pumping straight from the outset (interesting way to start a mix!) Next is a track from Skream himself which was popular one on pirate radio and in D clubs 'wobble that gut' with minimal progressive beats and bass-lines. Next is another skream track of a remix of a garage track by dj zinc. Its got bass technical-wobbles and a sick vocal (cool). Then its Skream ...

Review of Rinse Vol.2 (Mixed By Skream) - Various Artists

Scruff for advanced students.

Advantages: Best scruff album ever, a little taste of everything he does well.
Disadvantages: It just leaves you wanting more. Like well cooked steak.

Whatever this costs you, its worth more. Best album ever. Instead of being a series of disjointed tracks, this whole album flows nicely from start to finish and seamlessly crosses over some very different genres. It starts with a distinictly caribbean feel. You relax, and about 20 minutes late you realise its suddenly gone all electric. A while later and its funky jazz, or is it jazzy funk? Who cares. I listened to this album trying to strip down a straight 6 mercedes engine. Horrible job, but good music to work to. Very calming, and you learn all the words (where it has them) very quicky. There is a more hip-hop overall feel to it, but its still just scruff through and through. Album specifics. Again, not proper measuring. The album is properly long, so I assume around 70 minutes, its only one CD still. 31 tracks ...
