Advantages: Very tasty and high quality chocolate Disadvantages: Not a lot for the amount of calories
CADBURY'S CLUSTERS
35g BAG
I have seen these new confections in larger bags so when I spotted the 'snack sized'ones in Home Bargains for 39p I though I'd give them a try.
PACKAGING
The chocolates come in a red brightly designed pouch measuring 5" x 4" - for the amount of chocolates in the pack they could have cut that package down by half.I think the size of the pack is very misleading - there were only 5 'clusters' in the bag - it looked as if there would be far more than that.
The front of the pack shows a couple of the 'clusters' and the back has the nutritional values and ingredients on it.
I must say that I found the package a little hard to open - having to resort to scissors in the end, so not really ideal for a packed lunch box.
NUTRITIONAL VALUE ...
Advantages: Could keep your heart healthy Disadvantages: None
I'm not normally a cereal kind of person. Give me a couple of slices of toast in the morning with jam on, and I'm fine! But, when shopping in Sainbury's, I saw Nestle Clusters. If you bought any kind of Nestle cereal (they gave you 4 kinds to choose from), you got an extra 250 points on your reward card. So, I picked up 2 packets of the 'Clusters' cereal.
I haven't eaten this cereal in goodness knows how long, so wasn't really sure what I was letting myself in for! I paid £1.79 for a 435g packet.
It says on the front of the packet that it now contains sliced almonds. There is actually 3 types of cereal in here:
Whole Wheat Flakes
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
These looks a bit like cornflakes, but are darker in colour, and more crumplier. They're crunchy in texture, and can taste the full flavour of the wheat.
Advantages: Tasty and filling Disadvantages: A little sweet
Last week I decided to buy a variety pack of cereals and plumped for the nestle selection. I bought them mainly for my 3 year old, so having a quick gander through the packets I noticed the Nestle Clusters. As these contain nuts I couldn't give them to my daughter (children are not to have nuts until they are 5) so decided to eat them myself.
I'm not a big cereal fan and normally only eat weetabix or bran flakes, so what, if I didn't like them they could always go in the bin.
Taste test
``````````
When I opened the packet there was a very slight sweet and nutty smell coming from the packet which was very pleasant. I did have my doubts at this point, however, as I eat my cereals without sugar. I poured them into by bowl and added my skimmed milk. I can hear you all crying yuk, but after years of constantly dieting you get used to ...
