Noted for a list of collaborators, including session players Herbie Flowers, Tim Renwick, Terry Cox and Rick Wakeman, the album delves into psychedelic folk-rock, as well as prog, with its genre-defying template creating a blueprint of what would become over the next decade and more, one of the most inimitable British artists. The two-CD digipak contains an extensive booklet featuring rare photographs, memorabilia, sleeve notes and a chronology by Kevin Cann. CD one features the original album remastered from the original analogue masters tapes, whilst CD two features 15 bonus tracks of which eight are previously unreleased, including two ultra-rare demos.

I was given this album in 2001 by my uncle who said I would enjoy it.... he wasn't wrong!
This was DavidBowies first successful album, and I believe it was the origination of glam rock in 1969. I wasn't even born then, but appreciate it even now. As the reign of the hippies declined, this saw DavidBowie changing his original folk-pop style songs to those which saw a mixture of the acoustic and the electronic.
The album features songs, with rich lyrics, all along the theme of love/loss, the song Spaceoddity, being the one which went on to become Davidbowies days of Ziggy Stardust. However, the thing I love about the album, is that all of Bowies songs tell a story.

Advantages: Classic Bond moments in first half of the film. Disadvantages: Gadgets ruin the film, as does John Cleese as Q.
Madonna who sang the title song of the film has been given a cameo part. Her scene is completely under lit and leaves her looking rather butch. By the way the title song is not one of the memorable ones in the series and can be quite annoying after hearing it a few times.
Released in 2002, the film marked the 40thAnniversary of the franchise. The Gun Barrel sequence was adjusted slightly, a number of reference to all previous films were made throughout the film itself, the most obvious one being in the scene with the new Q where a whole scope of gadgets from previous adventures are seen. , and the use of the Aston Martin made a welcome and long overdue return to the screen as Bond's car of choice as the BMW's were not used in the film at all. SPACE ODDITY was the first record on which David Bowie looked and sounded like the Bowie whom the world has come to know. One glance at the spooky, androgynous face that adorns the record was enough to signal that the Anthony Newley-influenced, light-pop singer who sang the novelty number "The Laughing Gnome" a few years earlier was a thing of the past. Leaving behind the mannered, English music hall-isms of his initial recordings, Bowie roughened up the sound, creating a ragged, eclectic mix of folk and rock tinged with electronic sounds. The record yielded his first American hit, and began the singer's soon-to-be meteoric rise to international rock icon-hood. The title track, a sci-fi mini-epic, is an enduring classic in which Bowie squeezes every bit of drama from both his dour low range and the soaring upper reaches of his voice. Even after decades of continued airplay, "Space Oddity" is surprising for its intricate arrangement, nifty guitar playing, and palpable sense of interplanetary estrangement. Other fine and lesser-known musical moments include the sublimely subdued "Letter to Hermione", and the sprawling and strange "Memory of a Free Festival".
