There's an excellent story behind the way Space Raiders got signed to Skint - every day for the week before they sent their demo, they sent Skint HQ a packet of the cheapo crisps that they take their name from. Now is that cool or wot? The loose lolloping beats of this album make for an entirely entertaining evening round the gramophone and the samples are simply superb. We're talking T-Rex, Fats Domino, The Sweet and King Crimson all used to augment the laidback vibe of this record. They've even got a choon on here called 'Laidback' (a past single) surely just to prove that they can be up there lounging on the settee with a huge reefer with the best of them. Apart from the much Lamacqed 'Glam Raid' another particular highlight is the glitzy disco high of '(I need the) Disco Doktor'.
