Anyway, the ‘speaking seductively in Spanish’ part is pretty cheesy but somehow the song gets away with it. I don’t think this will necessarily be a great classic, but I think it’s a lovely song with a memorable tune and original, romantic lyrics.

Normally I’m fairly bitter, twisted and cynical, particularly when it comes to soppy love songs, but the moment I heard this one on the radio, I immediately loved it. Braxton’s deep, soulful voice superbly conveys the distant melancholy of unrequited love and the classical guitar accompaniment ( which I notice is quite fashionable at the moment) provides a genuine element of romance.
