To be honest I first listened to this because I had seen a couple of Lohans films and was interested to see what her cd sounded like but didn't expect it to be very good. But I was surprised to find I actually liked it. Obviously it wont be to everyones taste but the style of songs does vary throughout the album.
The song First, used on her film Herbie Fully Loaded has a slightly rockier edge, as does Speak, whilst Rumours is more of a club track. Although the majority of songs were not written by Lohan herself many of the lyrics do seem to apply to her life (although most of the lyrics could be applied to any teenagers life) and she seems to sing from the heart. (Throughout many of the songs, such as Nobody Til You, Symptoms of You, Something I Never Had, and Very Last Moment In Time, you get the impression she is singing about her much publicized relationship with Wilmer Valderrama).
Although I do like the song Rumours, coupled with To Know Your Name it seems that Lohan is complaining a little too much about the attention she gets from the press.
A couple of songs do seem to blend into one but there are enough good songs to overcome this.
In my opinion Lohans voice is good on this album (not the best you will hear but definately not the worst) but doesn't sound much like the live performances I have heard!
I think this album is mainly aimed at her current fanbase as young-ish teenagers, but it does seem that Lohan wants to appeal to people her own age (First has come under criticism for its double entendre lyrics and she has spoken of her 'dream' to have her songs played in clubs) but I don't think this album will really appeal to the older teenager/early twenties.
I definately think this album is worth a listen to if you get the chance but I wouldn't pay full price for it, maybe if it was on sale!!
Hope this is helpful in some way, I haven't included a track list because you can get that more easily with the link above and it isn't useful to anyone to just list a track and say good or bad because everyones taste is different and what I like you may hate!
