I only discovered Imogen a couple of weeks ago. After a repeated watching of the second series of the OC one of her songs (which I didn't realise at the time) was stuck in my head.
The song itself - Hide and Seek it somewhat sad yet it's completely different to any song i've ever heard. The pitch is incredible ranging from really high to really low notes.
After much research I finally found who the song was by and after looking at her myspace account http://profile.myspace.com/imogenheap (you don't need to be a member to listen) decided I really liked her and bought this album.
The album itself is a mixture of electronic, pop and indie. All the songs are great, though it is worth listening to each song a couple of times to get used to, as Imogen is so unique. The lyrics are sometimes unusual yet consistently thought provoking.
Imogen has featured in many film and TV soundtracks including Garden State, Narnia, CSI and Six Feet Under.
All in all certainly a style and artist worth checking out.
