tastes in rock & roll. No Jurassic 5. No Franz Ferdinand. Not even the White Stripes, whose color motif would have made perfect sense, find space on his CD shelf. Instead, the latest instalment of the comic-book saga leans heavily toward explosive tunes by strapping tattooed men who aren't afraid to cry: Dashboard Confessional's "Vindicated," Hoobastank's "Did You," and Taking Back Sunday's "This Photograph Is Proof (I Know You Know)." Is it because underneath that sinister-looking costume Peter Parker is just another sensitive guy who only wants to be loved? Well, um, yeah. It's still a little hard to figure out how Train snuck past the gate, especially when the best material here comes from impeccably cool rockers such as Lostprophets and Jet. --Aidin Vaziri

I have only slightly updated this, most of you will see that I've just review Spiderman 3 Soundtrack, this is the better version of Spiderman Soundtracks.
This is litterally my favourite cd I've ever brought. I'm not all for buying soundtrack's to movies, I think that there's always one song you like but the other's pale in comparison. This is not the case.
After seeing Spiderman 2 at the cinema I went to HMV and bought this cd, when I was on the way home I was a little bit worried, I've just spent £8.00 on a cd that I don't know is any good.
This soundtrack has taken the best song off every album about at that time and put them on this soundtrack.
Here's the what I think of the songs:
Dashboard Confessional- Vindicated- This is my favourite track of the whole album, it's a great opener to this album and sets the bar high for the rest of the songs. None of the songs on the album in my eyes compare to this song sung by Cashboard Confessional, it's slow but rocky at the same time and the lyrics are lush. 9/10
Ordinary- Train- This song is also brilliant, The lyrics in this are gorgeous, on lyrics this is much better than Dashboard Confessional's song. It's really compliments the film. It's a lot slower that Vindicated, but the instruments are played brilliantly. 8/10
Hoobastank- Did You- This is a lovely song from the fantastic Hoobastank, but it just doesn't really compare to the two above, plus Hoobastank have done so much better. "The Reason" by them, is one of my favourite songs. Still it's a nice song to listen to. 6/10
Hold On- Jet is a classic track, again it's not as good as the one's above but still a brilliant class track. Worth listening to. 6/10
Gifts & Curses- Yellowcard- This is a fantastic track, typical Yellowcard though. From the instruments at the start it just pulls you in, and the fact that the lead singer isn't as loud as the ones before, he actually sings the songs, not shouts it. I love this track. Pure brilliance. 8/10
Woman- Maroon 5- I love Maroon 5 but boy is this song outta place, it just doesn't go with the rest of the album. I played their album Song's about jane over and over but this song, when i play this album I tend to skip. 4/10
This Photograph Is Proof- Taking Back Sunday- Great track, but it is slightly forgettable but it's still worth listening to. 7/10
Give It Up- Midtown- Good song but like Taking Back Sunday, it's forgettable, I do tend to skip this track when I play this album. 6/10
Lucky You- Lostprophets- Lostprophets rock but theis is one of there worst songs, which is saying something. It doesn't have the same oomph that the rest of the album has, it's catchy though. You'll be singing it for days. 7/10
This I'm afraid is where I tend to stop with the cd, it's a fantastic album up until this point. The songs are drab compared to the rest of the album. Here's what rating I give them though:
Who I Am - Smile Empty Soul - 7/10 The Night That The Lights Went Out In NYC - The Ataris 5/10 Meant To Live - Switchfoot 8/10 We Are - Ana Johnsson 6/10 Someone To Die For - Jimmy Gnekko Featuring Brian May 4/10 Spidey Suite - Danny Elfman 3/10 Doc Ock Suite - Danny Elfman 3/10 She Spider - Mew 3/10
Meant to live by Switchfoot is a fantastic song but I do tend to stop at track 10 and go back to the start. I propbably haven't played the final four since I first got it.
If you want a better review on a certain song, just tell me and I'll tell you what I think of them.
This album is fantastic, it's got a lot of songs on it and it appeals to my genre of music. I really like it and will recommend it to anyone.
Advantages: NONE, doesn't compare 2 the 2nd soundtrack. Disadvantages: Boring songs, not gr8 artists.
...I've always been a fan of Spiderman and when I saw the second film I went out and brought the album, and wasn't disappointed. I have never really looked into the first one but when the third film came out I decided to give it a go. I brought it off Ebay for quite a cheap price and unfortunately haven't been able to sell it off since.
2 WORDS- IT'S TERRIBLE.
The best song on the album is Snow Patrol-Signal Fire, which compared to their song Chasing Cars, is slightly boring and uneventful. Like I said that is the BEST song on the album, so that is really saying something.
I'm not going to even bother reviewing each song in turn because there are none that I enjoyed immensely like I did with Spiderman2Soundtrack.
I expected better from The Killers & Snow Patrol, Signal Fire is an alright song but not brilliant like the rest...

Advantages: Fantastic lyrics with full strength musical genious Disadvantages: Drums are slightly repeatative, but is soon forgotten
...I bought this album at the beginning of last summer (2006) and it soon became my album of the summer, played when cruising down to the beach (I live in Cornwall), chilling with mates and whenever there was a CD slot free in my CD player! Being a fan I guess this review may be a bit bias, but I will try my best to keep it fair for everyone.
Chris Carrabba (singer-songwriter and guitarist in Dashboard) has been creating music for sometime now, with great success. He has 5 albums under his belt (including this one), as well an MTV2 award, for their song "Screaming Infidelities", and has produced soundtracks for Shrek 2 and Spider-Man2.
Dashboard tends toward acoustic style music with an indie rock feel. Their previous work has been outstanding, emotionally controlling albums which tugs at the listener as Chris sings about his experiences...

Advantages: First Class lyrics and guitar lines Disadvantages: Mainly acoustic, very short album length
...As Dashboard Confessional fan, I actually got into them the wrong way around, buying their newer albums before their earlier ones. Maybe I have therefore been cleverly eased into a fondness of the style that is Chris Carrabba, who knows. I would have to say that most people would probably prefer their latest work, encompassing a deeper musical dimension rather than acoustic guitar and a guy pouring his hurt out?.however it grows on you!
If you haven't heard of Dashboard Confessional, they are an American indie rock band with an acoustic edge. Main man, Chris Carrabba, from Boca Raton, Florida, has written 5 albums (as well as this one), received an MTV2 award, for their song "Screaming Infidelities", and has produced soundtracks for Shrek 2 and Spider-Man2. Originally acoustic based, the band has developed to encompass a stronger...
