You know you're dealing with a real blockbuster when the soundtrack is made up not only of ... more
rocking tracks, but of rocking tracks that were recorded specifically for the movie instead of being fished out of various preexisting albums. (Okay, except for Chubby Checker's "The Twist"--that one's not hot off the presses.) Such is the power of Spidey that he inspired the likes of Snow Patrol, the Killers, Jet, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Wolfmother--and of course you just have to look at the title of "The Supreme Being Teaches Spider-Man How to Be in Love" to know the song is by the Flaming Lips. The overall mood is less heavy than on the previous soundtrack, with the selection hitting pretty close to an alt-rock bull's eye. Highlights include "Sealings," a return to form for Yeah Yeah Yeahs; the Walkmen's evocative "Red River"; and Jet's "Falling Star," a muscular piece of retro-balladry. Among the oddities are Coconut Records, the new project of actor (and former Phantom Planet member) Jason Schwartzman; its contribution, the lovely "Summer Day," features backup vocals by Kirsten "Mary Jane" Dunst. Still, sometimes a big name is not needed: One of the best tracks, the anthemic "Portrait of a Summer Thief," is by the unsigned (as of this writing) Austin band Sounds Under Radio. --Elisabeth Vincentelli

Advantages: NONE, doesn't compare 2 the 2nd soundtrack. Disadvantages: Boring songs, not gr8 artists.

2 WORDS- IT'S TERRIBLE.
The best song on the album is Snow Patrol-Signal Fire, which compared ... ...immensely like I did with Spiderman 2 Soundtrack.
I expected better from The Killers & Snow Patrol, Signal Fire is an alright song but not brilliant like the rest of their songs and The Killers is very disappointing. It pales in comparison to their songs like 'Bones', and isn't brilliant at all.

2 WORDS- IT'S TERRIBLE.
The best song on the album is Snow Patrol-Signal Fire, which compared to their song Chasing Cars, is slightly boring and uneventful. Like I said that is the BEST song on the album, so that is really saying something.
I'm not going to even bother reviewing each song in turn because there are none that I enjoyed immensely like I did with Spiderman 2 Soundtrack.

When I brought the second album, I knew quite a few of the bands, Dashboard Confessional was a band I already knew, but their song Vindicated was fantastic, also Maroon 5 had just gotten big and so I thought that album would be good and it was, however the only two big names on this album are The Killers & Snow Patrol. It does have Jet on there, but how many of you can name a song from Jet.
As most of you can tell I really don't like this album, it's slightly put me off wanting to see the film, but I know I'll still watch it anyway.
This is only my opinion and I think the fact that it's not really my genre of music, like the 2nd Soundtrack was, is the reason why I didn't like it at all. It was a boring album to listen to, and by the first five I had changed the CD over to Daughtry.
TRACK LISTING:
1.) SNOW PATROL- Signal Fire 2.) THE KILLERS- Move Away 3.) YEAH YEAH YEAHS- Sealing 4.) WOLFMOTHER- Please To Meet You 5.) BEATSTEAKS- Cut Off The Top 6.) THE WALKMEN- Red River 7.) BLACK MOUNTAIN- Stay Free 8.) THE FALMING LIPS- The supreme Being Teacher Spiderman How To Be In Love 9.) SIMON DAWES- Scared Of Myself 10.) CHUBBY CHECKER- The Twist 11.) ROGUE WAVE- Sightlines 12.) COCONUT RECORDS- Summer Day 13.) JET- Falling Star 14.) SOUNDS UNDER RADIO- Portrait OF A Summer Theif 15.) THE WYO'S- A Letter From St. Jude 16.) THE OOHLAS- Small Parts
I do however like the inlay/cover thing, it's really kewl. I've actually got it as my desktop picture at the moment.
Check out my Spiderman 2 review, which is on page 2/3 of my reviews. Thanx.
Advantages: Great music, great bands all on one cd. Disadvantages: When you get 2 track 10 you get a bit bored of those songs.
I have only slightly updated this, most of you will see that I've just review Spiderman3Soundtrack, this is the better version of SpidermanSoundtracks.
This is litterally my favourite cd I've ever brought. I'm not all for buying soundtrack's to movies, I think that there's always one song you like but the other's pale in comparison. This is not the case.
After seeing Spiderman 2 at the cinema I went to HMV and bought this cd, when I was on the way home I was a little bit worried, I've just spent £8.00 on a cd that I don't know is any good.
This soundtrack has taken the best song off every album about at that time and put them on this soundtrack.
Here's the what I think of the songs:
Dashboard Confessional- Vindicated- This is my favourite track of the whole album, it's a great opener to this album and sets the bar ...
Advantages: colourful case / 'vindicated' is a brilliant song Disadvantages: not as good as spiderman 1 album
the soundtrack of songs associated with the film are just as good as the first album and not as randomly un-epic as some of the songs on this album.
I'm sure some people will find this album entertaining and I recommend it to anyone who is a fan of compilation albums, or the spider-man films, and it alongside the first spider-man compilation album make a strong rock collection!
Tracks:
1.: Vindicated - Dashboard Confessional
2.: Ordinary - Train
3.: Did You - Hoobastank
4.: Hold On - Jet
5.: Gifts And Curses - Yellowcard
6.: Woman - Maroon 5
5.: This Photograph Is Proof (I Know You Know) - Taking Back Sunday
8.: Give It Up - Midtown
9.: Lucky You - Lostprophets
