I'm getting to this stage in life now, where my taste in music is extremely varied and when an album is released these days I tend to be one of the first to buy it whether I like one song of all of them, it has a presence in my CD collection.
Leona Lewis Spirit is one of the exceptions. Although I have somwhat liked the tracks that she has produced and found myseelf singing along to them when they have been on the radio, its one of those albums that I didn't impulse buy, however it has now found its way into my CD collection.
Reality TV shows have been around in abundance for around ten years now. We have seen the likes of Pop Stars, Pop Idol and X Factor within the music industry and there have been quite a few success stories and a lot of people that have made it big however has fizzled out quite quick. Leona Lewis has a success story of her own and has become one of the most famous people to come out of a show like X Factor, and make it big not only in the UK, but conquered America virtually straight away purely because of the strength of her voice and the way that she can belt out a ballad, put her in the same league as Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey and Celine Dion.
Th Spirit album is very good in itself. Although it is packed full of ballads from start to finish, its an easy listening album, which is packed full of different beats to give each song a little variation. You have the typical ballad with instrumental backing music, a couple of tracks with R N B music and also a couple of tracks with some pretty funky beats.

It was nearly twelve months since Leona won the X Factor and made a re-appearance in the UK chart with Bleeding Love, the first song on the album, which made it big in the UK. The song itself is fantastic. The tracks starts with a organ and Leona coming in singing softly for the first couple of lines, until the track kicks in and she starts to belt the track out. Its one of those tracks that no matter how much you actually listen to it, the liking to the song doesn't actually wear off.
The 2nd track from the album to be released is Better In Time. With ballads they are all related to relationship with people more or less all the time. All Leona's tracks are unique in there own right, although a lot of ballads sound the same, her voice and the beats that are implemented within the tracks make the songs. Within majority of the tracks they don't follow the same format, they have a lot of variation in them which doesn't make them bland like some artists who sing these kind of songs.
All in all its a great album, from a talented artist, who I am sure we are just going to keep hearing more from her.
