Our Lady Peace, for those of you who don't know (which is the majority of the british public) is a Canadian rock band, and this offering is their last that they made before their original guitarist left.
The album is a concept album, with ideas from a book from Ray Kurzweil, about robots becoming conscious and taking over the world and all that, but the songs that it strings together are excellent. Modern OLP is always easy to listen to, and sometimes cheesy, but the new ideas add a little extra that really makes the album special. My favourite track is 'Life', the least rocky, while Right Behind You and Made To Heal are excellent as well. Give them a listen - it is a travesty that they seem to have no success or radio play this side of the pond.
How helpful would this review be to a person making a buying decision? Rating guidelines
Sorry for the low rating, but you really haven't said anything about the album in this review! It doesn't inspire me to go and listen to the CD, let alone buy it.
It would be far more helpful if you were to talk about the style of music Our Lady Peace play, how the tracks on this album compare to their earlier work and give some description of the songs.
If you do edit, let me know and I'll be happy to re-rate for you.
Advantages: Some of the band's best tracks, their last really good album Disadvantages: Some boring songs, I listened to my copy to death! (see review).
