After the release of his superb first U.K. single "Crazy" he really
did make himself stand out from rest. I also found recently, that
Gnarls Barkley was also associative with a well known R&B
and Hip-hop group called OutKast. So I decided to buy his
album called "St. Elsewhere", which was produced by Danger
Mouse, aka Brian Burton. Danger Mouse aka Brain Burton was
nominated for "Producer of the Year" working with the "virtual
band" Gorillaz! Therefore, I purchased the double disc album
from Virgin MegaStores for £12.99 from the High street but
online prices varies between £7.99 - £13.00 (Brand new!).
obviously I really enjoyed listening to his first U.K. released
single called (no.2) "Crazy", then "Smiley Faces" (no.5) a song
which is influenced by Swingers/Blue
music . Going down the
pecking order a few songs had a same structure, in other words
nothing really interesting to nod your head too!
So I proceed to second disc (no.2), which is in a DVD format.
Altogether 10 sections; 4 of his original music videos and 6
recorded live performances. To be honest I really enjoyed
watching and listening to the DVD, I thought his performance
with Jools Holland was absolutely FAB! While his performance
on channel 4 singing "Smiley Faces" was a BRILLIANT live
recorded performance, his lyrics are abit sublime
sometimes! "Go Go Gadget Gospel" was not too bad
and so "who cares" track for some reason every time I hear this
song I have butterflies in my stomach (WEIRD!).

Overall my verdict is excellent album presentation,
AVERAGE tracks for me! I think he is another great emerging talent from
the U.S., but for some reason turning into a commercial artist
can make you under-perform on the big stage even though he's
already a millionaire!
