"Stankonia" was the fourth album to be released by a group which consists of Andre 3000 and Big Boi, who collectively go by the name of OutKast. This album was a successful one for the group as they managed to a #2 in th Billboard Charts, as well as three singles, of which one achieved a #1 in 2000. ...called alt. Hip Hop as this is what it revolves around. The two artist differ greatly, also adding to the mixture of what is brought from OutKast. They call themselves "The player and the poet" giving and obvious contrast from the start, as Big Boi stays gangsta as his lyric mainly go on the theme of being a thug, whilst Dre generally comes up with random metaphoric phrases. Advantages: 3 strong singles, thought provoking lyrics, punchy aggressive beats and production
Disadvantages: terrible interludes, a number of very poor tracks by Outkast standards

...they undoubtedly deserve. Stankonia however really isnt as original or of as high quality as earlier releases such as 'ATliens' and the high of their 1998 release 'Aquemini'. Infact the only factor that has increased the sales of 'Stankonia' over older releases is that hit single by the name of 'Ms Jackson'... At best, the album is mixed.. at times genius, and at others absolutely dire and for this reason it sometimes struggles to hold the listeners ...
...funny and original, but on Stankonia they just sound silly, do we really need to listen to people talking for 20 seconds between tracks? Yes this is common in the genre today but many artists pull it off with style (De La Soul and Talib Kweli) and others just emit them (Blackstar).. ...really great jam off the Stankonia album. It has an extremely fast beat, great for dancing. Or try to rap the words as fast Andre 3000. If you’re really fast, you might come close. Featured are the following instruments: Keyboard, and guitar. Digital editing was also required to create the fast beats and rhymes. Advantages: Great lyrics. Great beats. Pure funk. STANKY!
Disadvantages: A couple of poor tracks.

...propels the album into a great start. Pure funky beats are rapped over by the revitalised Big Boi and Andre. Great hook and a great tune. "So Fresh So Clean" is another slice of Stank with a smooth mellow tune and hook. Everyone has heard "Ms Jackson". Greats beats and production allows Outkast's story to flow, linked with a catchy hook. "Snappin and Trappin" is some mo' funk but not up to the standards of the rest of the album. Good beats but ... ...Outkast from other rappers. Stankonia is their fifth album, and I bought it after being thoroughly impressed with the massive hit "Ms.Jackson" (which is featured on the album). Ms. Jackson was everywhere I went! In school everybody was singing it, I am for real was written on a stool in my science lab and I'm sorry Ms.Jackson was written on my table in my German classroom. ...got them widely recognised. Stankonia consists of 24 very different tracks, upbeat and chilled out. Bombs Over Baghdad (B.O.B) is not a typical hip hop tune. It is a very upbeat, almost drum and bass like track with very fast rapping and a catchy chorus. Not what you'd expect, but still good. So Fresh, So Clean is Outkast's next release from this album.
