...I don't usually go out and buy compilations as I tend to find that I already have most of the tracks on other albums. This particular set was given to me as a Christmas present and I was very pleasantly surprised. There are a few well played tracks on here, in particular, those by Otis Redding, Sam & Dave, The Staples Singers and Booker T but there are many others, some of which have not had airplay in a long time. Classics Stax artists such as Rufus and Carla Thomas, Albert King, Isaac Hayes, William Bell and the Bar-Kays appear alongside those who are less well known outside the circles of Stax afficionados - Linda Lyndell, Little Milton, Eddie Floyd and Johnnie Taylor being just a few. There are a total of 98 tracks on this set and I didn't find one that I wanted to skip. Stax and B&S fans will love this set. For those new... Read review

...a founding member of the Mar-Keys was Steve Cropper one of the most influential songwriters and guitarist of the 60’s and 70’s. He went on to form along with the organ player Booker T Jones the even more famous Booker T and the MG’s where he co –wrote many of their hits and went on to co- write "Knock On Wood" with Eddie Floyd, "In the Midnight Hour" with Wilson Pickett, and "The Dock of the Bay" with Otis Redding. Cropper was admired by many musicians of the time including the Beatles and for many his guitar playing was only matched and maybe surpassed by Jimi Hendrix. All these well-known hits are included on this compilation. Evidence of Booker T and the MG’s jazz tinged soulful appeal is provided with the inclusion of the finger tapping cool of Green Onions their best known hit, however many people mostly Cricket fans will also be surprised... Advantages: Best music you will ever listen to
Disadvantages: Can there possibly be anything wrong with pink floyd

...Echoes is an album that was reliesed by pink floyd which consists of a compilation of Pink Floyds best musical masterpieces known to man, such as Another Brick in the wall, the 23 minute experience known to you as Echoes, The Great Gig in the Sky, Set the Controls Fot the heart of the sun and money and thats just on the first disc !!! as you can tell from this line up it is going to be yet another great guitar soloing CD from Pink Floyd. The album cover/booklet consists of all of the songs lyrics and some interesting artwork to match. This is and probably will be the last pink floyd album reliesed so dont be caught 20 years from now when your children ask to hear what pink floyd sound like, dont dissapoint them buy this album now....
