A few years back I was one of the biggest (and oldest!) Steps fans around, finding them kitsch, cute, and cuddle (the women at least - the blokes always were smarmy and slimey!). Songs like 'Last Thing On My Mind' and 'One For Sorrow' were reminiscent of Bananarama in their prime and the group, even if manufactured and overchoreographed, were actually quite interesting. Sadly, with the dire second LP 'Steptacular' (the title sums it up - awful) any credibility they had in their music or their personas began to slide away. The good old songs are still a decent listen - and the covers of 'Tragedy' and 'Better The Devil You Know' decent enough - but it's time Steps called it a day. They're already way behind S Club 7 anyway.

I think that Steps are too busy worring about the world tour to be bothered about doing new stuff, It won't be long and they will be turning out some new stuff.
I agree that remakes are OK as long as you have some new stuff of your own to go along with it.

Sad but true, alas. For my views on City, you'll have to read my review :) - check it out under the universities section...

I think all pop groups are fab, but people just see them as teens that can't sing, dance or write their own songs. To most, pop groups are just another thing to complain about, but I suppose that gives Tony Blair a break for once!
