Having written this opinion a while back now, the actual splitting of STEPS has not affected me at all! This opinion was all hyped on how long STEPS were going to last written back in 2001! Now they have actually split up...
StEpS WAS a band of 5 which included Faye, Lisa, claire, Lee and H who had been around for quite a while and finally realised there time was up! I have no right to say that STEPS were a complete failure because they were totally 100% not! They were a sucessful band/group but came and went just like the once famous 'sPiCe gIrLs' but sTePs actually split making their ' long era' actually come to a shooting halt!
THE STEPS UPWARDS
========== The group came together in 1997 when there was a competition, all 5 members of sTePs came together together to form the amazing group.
The band then released its first single that same year which was named the famous '5,6,7,8' which was a massive first hit for the famous pop group, it became a song that was played at every disco going and still is played at some
unbelievably! The single sold around 290,000 impressive copies and became world wide known.
Then on the 19th of April 1998 sTePs, 'Last Thing On My Mind' hit number 10 in the charts. It went on to reach an impressive number 6! Then followed their third release, 'One For Sorrow' and there debut album 'STEP ONE'. sTePs were starting well and were making a name for themselves!
The group went on and released such sucessful singles as the double sided single, 'Heartbeat and Tragedy', then followed 'Better Best forgotton'. Then sTePs decided to release another album called 'Steptacular' in which the single, 'Love's Got A Hold On My Heart' was released, then followed, 'After The Love Has Gone' At christmas 1999 sTePs released another double sided single, 'Say You'll Be Mine' and 'Better The Devil You Know'.
sTePs have since released many more songs, I could go on all day naming them, there has been a fair share of releases! sTePs lead a trail to stardom and were VERY successful but when I originally wrote this opinion I asked you all: Are they still at the top spot with other fellow contestants!? (Baring in mind this was back in 2001)
THE STEPS DOWNWARDS *****************************============= sTePs were everywhere in magazines, they even had there own TV show. They were on the television and radio non~stop and then it all started to slow down, the groups once head bopping, teenage fans seemed to loose interest and get into the new garage and RnB tracks and sTePs were left with the fans of 5-10 yr olds!
I think it was 2001 when sTePs released their last ever album named 'Buzz' and even then things didn't seem to be as buzzed up as they used to be! I think 1 of the last releases the group sung was 'Here And Now' and 'You'll Be sorry' which were A and B side tracks. However there is a song that is occasionally shown on the music channels available on sky or cable showing the band singing a very slow song, I'm not sure of the name of it but this surely was there last release.
When I originally wrote this opinion I suggested that bands come and go, they entertain us, earn their fortune and then stop when everyone has had enough and the group has got TOO MUCH money for its own good! I think this has hapenned to sTePs.
It isn't just sTePs I'm referring to here, take the sPiCe gIrLs and aLl SaInTs for example, they all hit the top in the charts, then either split or quit! I even reckon popstars Hear'say will only have a couple of years of stardom, the competition for fame is rising constantly and this is one of the main reasons why groups are getting pushed away so easily.
stePs should look back at all the great music they've made in the past, they should be proud of what they've done and carry on with the rest of there lives as normal as possible but of course NEVER give up on their brilliant vocal talents because that would just be a waste of time and effort!
Lets also hope that any sTePs don't go on and release a movie like some stars! That would just truly be a disaster! LoL.

I'm sorry to say it STEPS but I think it's time you STEPPED BACK DOWN to where you came from or just face it, you don't have as many fans as you used to!

I'm glad to say that sTePs came to there senses and called it quits once and for all, they all realised that their time was up finally! I look forward to maybe a few solo hits from the group members themselves but I hope the band never re-unite!? I'm glad the band finished without a huge bust up, that would of just prooved they weren't all they were supposed to be, but that isn't true, they were great (once!?)
