Advantages: Great value and lots of choice Disadvantages: Don't pick this restaurant if you are in a rush
My friend Alison works for the company which I left almost exactly a year ago. In the time since I joined my new company we've tried and failed to get together many times, only clocking up two nights out so we were well overdue for a catch up. Since she works close to Manchester airport and I was flying in at a respectable time for a change, I headed straight round to see her when I landed. We'd had an exchange of text messages over the previous couple of days to see if we could agree a place to have dinner. She won last time and we had eaten in a really awful Turkish restaurant in Wilmslow, so this time I got the right to push my choice on her. I fancied Thai ? but then I generally do ? and she tracked down the almost unpronounceable Mae Gaew in Knutsford.
Knutsford is a good choice for dinner if you haven't thought to book ahead ...
Advantages: Her voice, her love for beautiful words. Disadvantages: ...Not commercial enough?!!
Hello everyone, I haven't been around for a while and I don't have much time to write but I thought it would be a good idea for me to introduce this wonderful French singer to you. I guess you mostly know her as Johnny Depp's girlfriend and mother of this children, but she is very much more than that, she's a real artist. So if you're curious to know her a little more, I'll do my best to present this album which is, I think, her best live show and there are a lot of songs from all different periods of her carreer.
**********WHO IS SHE?**********
Vanessa Paradis was born in 1972 in France. She started to sing in 1987 (yes, 20 years ago!!) and her biggest hit of that year was "Joe le Taxi". She worked with Lenny Kravitz, Serge Gainsbourg (I hope you know him because he was an amazing singer and song writer...) and more recently ...
You may know Vanessa Hudgens from the popular American movie 'High School Musical'. Vanessa plays the lead female in this film, and she has since gone solo and launched her own music career.
After watching High School Musical I decided to buy Vanessa's debut album. She has been compared to other artists such as Hilary Duff, but to be honest I think she is much better and is much more diverse. Her album is surprisingly very grown up, and a lot better than I thought it would be.
1) Come Back To Me - This is the first single, it is a r'nb flavoured and has a very catchy chorus with a great beat to it.
2) Let Go - This is a quite a fun song, again quite r'n'b orientated. Not my favourite song on the album, but it's great to dance to!
3) Say OK - This is the second single to be released in America. This is a ballad and shows ...
Personnel includes: Vanessa-Mae (violin). Former classical violinist Vanessa-Mae follows her pop debut album, THE VIOLIN PLAYER, with another energetic marriage of classical music, pop, and techno beats. Most of the songs on STORM are lively instrumentals, wild remakes of classical pieces like Bach's "Partita in E," whose opening movement finds new life here as "Bach Street Preludes." In the liner notes, Vanessa-Mae offers this statement to potential critics: "Anyone who thinks this is blasphemy is unlikely to be in the good company of a genius such as the pianist/composer Rachmaninov, who performed his own 'untraditional' version of this violin piece on piano." Vanessa-Mae's whispery vocals have a delicate prettiness on 'I'm a Doun' and "Embrasse Moi (You Fly Me Up)."
