Back in the day's when rap music wasn't really appreciated and the beastie boy's were the biggest things in town a group was being set-up perhaps the most dangerous group in the world N.W.A. or niggaz with attitude. The group set up when notorious drug dealer Eric Wright or eazy-e got dr. dre, ice cube, yella and the d.o.c. Together for there first album n.w.a. and posse which went unnoticed on it's release in 1987.
Many people didn't actually know that straight outta Compton was a follow up to there poor effort n.w.a. and posse but this album set of there career for this album they signed up MC Ren and decided on a new style, a style that was full of powerful lyrics and controversy mostly aimed at the police, drugs or woman. There album was so offensive the label ruthless records got a warning from the police chief.
Here is the track listing for N.W.A.'s Straight Outta Compton
1. Straight Outta Compton 2. F**k Tha Police 3. Gangsta Gangsta 4. If It Ain't Ruff 5. Parental Discretion Iz Advised 6. 8 Ball - (Remix) 7. Something Like That 8. Express Yourself 9. Compton's N The House - (Remix) 10. I Ain't Tha 1 11. Dopeman - (Remix) 12. Quiet On Tha Set
The first song released on the album was straight outta compton and was set to be n.w.a.'s greatest ever hit although they released many others nothing could come quite as near as this one, the hard hitting lyrics talked mainly about gun's, woman, dodging cop's and many other gang related things.
Other hit's on this album include Fuck the police, Gansta Gansta, Parental Discretion Iz Advised, Express Yourself and also 8 ball. Unfortunately N.W.A. split up the first departure being ice cube who had disputes with many of the members because he felt he was getting an unfair deal on the money front. He was right, he wrote 8 out of 12 tracks on this album and the record label manager eazy-e got most of the money.
Ice cube was so angry about this he decided to turn it into something productive. Thats how his song "no Vaseline" came about the song disses all of his previous friends by undermining them with his lyrics which basically say they can't last without him, how right they were they did release what was to be there last two album's 100 miles and still runnin' and efil4zaggin which did well in the own right's but didn't touch the success of straight outta compton.
It totally fell apart when dre was released from his contract to pursue his solo career with death row record's also legend has it that suge knight owner of death row threatened to kill the manager of n.w.a. and eazy-e if they didn't release dre from his contract, they duly obliged and dr. dre released the chronic one of the biggest selling albums in rap history.
All the group members are still knocking about apart from that is eazy-e who died of aids in 1995 but managed to make amends with the other guys before dying. So there you have it a history of n.w.a. and there group members I hope my op has been an interesting read for you.
P.S. please don't complain about my grammer i've had enough of people commenting on it. thanks

Hi just browsing through the rap sections when I came across your op. I also love this album. You have included plenty about the group but people will be looking to find out about the actual music. Other than that, good.

Good opinion on a great album. Now, just a word about your Granma...
Advantages: Angry, Raw, Aggressive, and Dangerous Rapping; Cube's Well-Written Lyrics, Dr. Dre's Pre-Chronic Production, Groundbreaking Disadvantages: The Last Song
