...with a new change of pace the Sacrificial dance begins, growing ever more complex and violently percussive, generating tremendous vigour and excitement. Review of Is There Anybody Out There (The Wall Live 1980-1981/Limited Edition) - Pink Floyd by  steveking5000

Advantages: Booklet, Songs, Atmosphere, Sound Quality
Disadvantages: None!

...in London's Earls Court Arena. The songs include either extra guitar solos from David Gilmour…who really does show us his great guitar-ring ability in the album…or extra keyboard solos from Rick Wright or extra verses, and a lot of the songs on this album are arguably better than the Studio versions recorded originally. This Limited Edition CD comes complete with booklet on how the Pink Floyd concert was put ahead by the band members, and tells of which songs are there favourites. Evidently, Gilmour favourites are Comfortably Numb and Run Like Hell and incidentally Dave wrote these to songs and he really gives it his all in the guitar playing through out the concert. The booklet is a really interesting read on the concert and is a must buy for all Floyd fans… The way the CD is put together is through the concert being split into 2 CD... Read review

Advantages: You will hear a landmark in music history
Disadvantages: Can be frightening for those only used to Bach

...Igor Stravinsky (1882-1971), is best known for his ground-breaking and hugely influential music for ballet. Indeed, 'The Rite of Spring' or 'Le Sacre du Printemps' is perhaps the best example of Stravinsky's challenging and provocative interpretation of the 'Brave New World'. 'The Rite' was premiered in the Theatre des Champs-Elysees in Paris (1913), and it all started well as a seemingly innocent bassoon melody floated out from the orchestral pit. What was to follow, however, was to shock and enrage the unprepared Parisian audience: pagan content, ritual sacrifice, wild choreography, savage and hugely unconventional music. This moment is a milestone in music history, and heralded (along with Schoenberg) a transformation in music: whilst once thought of as horrific, Stravinsky's music is now admired and is still perpetually...
