major-indie Domino for the cutely titled Strawberry Jam. And that doesnt even include the wealth of solo records and side projects that Polar Bear, Avey Tare, Geologist and Deacon (not their real names) have been involved with. Strawberry Jam has even made the American charts, the New York-based band promoting it on Americas late night chat show circuit. Yet though this might be their most commercially successful record yet, it still defies easy categorisation. Songs are largely built around electronic sequences, but it certainly isnt dance music. Lyrics often present a narrative, but its hardly folk. But yelped vocals and wildly unpredictable arrangements cant distract from the straightforward quality of songs like "Winter Wonderland", the desperately seedy "Reverend Green" and the unsettling "Unsolved Mysteries", virtually a journey from birth to death in a matter of minutes. The sinister "#1" is one unlikely tune to play on network TV. Loosely affiliated with a supposed new weird America scene, which, if it exists at all, describes a younger generation inspired by the loose band model defined by veterans Flaming Lips, Animal Collectives agitated and original approach is the new mainstream. --Steve Jelbert

...I am quite a lover of toast, more specifically; I am a lover of jam on toast. I am not really too fussy as to which brand of jam I use, but recently, when I was doing my weekly shop up Tesco's, I noticed that I would receive 50 extra clubcard points if I bought Hartley's Best StrawberryJam so off I went to find myself some.
About Hartley's
Hartley's was a green grocer that was founded by Sir William Pickles Hartley. He began to make his own jam when his usual delivery failed to turn up and found that his homemade jams sold really well. In 1884, the business was so successful that it was was incorporated as William Hartley & Sons Limited. Nowadays, the company if owned by Premier Foods.

Advantages: Better than some straswberry jams Disadvantages: Not as good as some other Strawberry jams
...As a treat this weekend I made some scones, nothing nicer than freshly baked scones strawberryjam and cream. Problem uh huhh I had no strawberryjam in the cupboard, no cream either but I did expect to find no cream.
I went to our local shop only 3 minutes walk away. I bought some cream and looked at the range of jams, no choice really only one type of strawberryjams Hartley's. So I bought the jam it cost me£1.14p...
Now Hartley's is an ok brand of jam usually fairly good. Hartley's jam is now part of the large premier food brand and available in a lot of stores.
The jam I bought was their best their Best everyday jam .This jam comes in quite an attractive shaped jar. with a red strawberry designed label with the Hartleys logo and Best srawberry jam written on it. Hartley also make a family jam this is without pieces...

Advantages: sweet and tasty Disadvantages: may find unwanted things
...I used to love strawberryjam, i was one of my favourites especially with toast.But then they was this one day then I opened the jam, took a little scoop of it to spread it on my toast, and you know those lumps of strawberry, well one of those came with it.
So the next thing I know im taking a bite out of my toast, munching away until I reach the lump of strawberry, and I thought to myself that it really didnt feel like a strawberry on my tongue, so I spat it out feeling quite disgusted and to my suprise IT WAS A RATS HEAD!!!!!!
So we sent a email to the makers and we got some money for it, which was quite good but now I can't ever have jam from a jar only from those little pots and i've changed the brand to Hartleys which is some good quality jam....
