Streets Of Fire - Original Soundtrack

Advantages: A great addition to your ROCK collection
Disadvantages: Has Marilyn Manson on it

...The first thing i said when i came out of the cinema was "I have to get the soundtrack" and i went straight to the nearest music shop and bought it. This isnt just a great CD beacuse there is a picture of Keanu Reeves on the front, but beacuse the music is fantastic. The music is very powerful and when you walking down the street with it plugged in your ears nothing can stand in your way!! I have to say that my favorite song is 'Clubbed to death' by Rob D, as its so strong. My least favorite would have to be 'Rock is Dead' by Marilyn Manson as he/she is not my cup of tea! If you really enjoyed the film then the soundtrack wont let you down. So the answer is: the Matrix wouldn't be the Matrix without the music.... Read review

...Now this is a calssic film with a surprisingly amazing soundtrack. This is the original soundtrack, its not remastered, or remixed, and yet it still is as good as it was. Now you all might be thinking why this soundtrack is so good, ok its a nice blend of suspense and fast paced music with a nice hint of the slow grabbing music , that holds your attention and inspires you onwards. The title themesong is not only incredible, it was unparalled in its time and is one of the most popular songs to date. Everyone would like this soundtrack album, not just for the 1 song which makes it, there are many that make this album worthwile. The dreamlike nature of the way the tracks are recorded and infused give a higher lvl of sound qulaity and provoke intense feelings when listened to. Initial thoughts when listening were wow! Advantages: Powerful, enmotional introduction to modern classical

...50 minutes of spell-blinding classical music. Vangelis, perhaps best known for being 'the guy that wrote that tune on Charriots Of Fire' has displayed his great talent and intelligence in composing, arranging, performing AND producing this entire soundtrack (and he did it in a style consistent with the movie!). The film, if you haven't seen it, is about Columbus' journey and discovery to the 'new world'. Throughout the movie the music is a quintessential part of the back-ground, enhancing the directors' (Ridley Scott) shot-choice and the acting skills of the cast (Gerard Depardieu & Sigourney Weaver amongst others). As a musical piece alone however, this soundtrack can and does stand alone. Each piece can be both powerful and emotive, relaxing and exciting but all are thought-provoking.
