Advantages: Broad range of topics covered, very easy to read Disadvantages: Little detail on some areas because of the broad range of topics covered
I work with and have a fair bit of experience with individuals on the autism spectrum. I have a fairly good working knowledge of the area, but am very lacking in specifics and in day-to-day applications.
This book is primarily aimed at parents, but I would recommend it to anyone with a profssional interest as well.
The book offers a very good introduction to what autism spectrum disorders are, their prevalence and how diagnoses are made. It's packed with tips about where to go for extra information, be that for finacial, emotional or educational support for parents, or for more detailed accounts.
I found te book very accessible. It manages to give a good grounding without seeming patronising. It doesn't assume any prior knowledge, nor does it over-simplify.
A very wide range of topics is covered in the book. I like this as I found ...
Advantages: Great sound, smooth pixels and satisfying action Disadvantages: One vehicle throughout the game, no multiplayer and only four levels
Desert Strike, the series that created a different genre of simulated action. Couldn't stop playing this back in the 90s and you can always rely on EA Games to produce something special. They did back then and they still do now.
Plotline
The plot of the game is to stop a madman in Iraq from starting World War 3, a villain named General Kilbaba. Strangely, he looks just like Saddam Hussein. If the developers were trying to create a likeliness of him or even wanting to use him, but didn't want to use his real name. I'm really not sure and don't want to go there! The game takes place a year after the Gulf War ended. The player uses a AH-64 Apache chopper to complete objectives set in four different levels/campaigns, however they sure do take some time to properly complete.
Gameplay
Rescuing friendly troops ...
Advantages: A damned return to form Disadvantages: none
Grave Disorder! Wow, I heard democracy and instantly thought I cannot wait to hear this album. This is the best album The Damned have done since Strawberries (although i do like the others in between).
This really is a return to form. I have been a Damned fan since 1982 and this was the best present I had in years from any band. It is almost a Black Album part 2.
It starts with the mind blowing fury of democracy and continues with songs like Amen from the wonderful Captain Sensible, would you be so hot if you weren't dead (slagging off past rock stars who gained critical acclaim through death), and Absinthe from the gothic mind of Dave Vanian.
With Captain Sensible back on the team, and Patricia Morrison (now vanian) from Gun Cub/ later Sisters of mercy and Pinch from English dogs, and the captains old Keybord Player Monty Oxymoron ...
