This is one of the most open, honest albums I have heard in a long time and my favourite one years on from its original release.
Its comprised of 20 songs featuring 4 different interludes leading us on to different parts of the album. It really is over an hour of pure unadulterated Christina Aguilera in her purest form!
Starting with Stripped, its the first of four interludes with voices telling us whispered rumours about Christina and her life. She says that this is her stripped and it leads into "Cant hold us down", a calloboration with Lil Kim about women and the power they have even though various people try to hold them down! Its very upbeat!
Track 3 is Walk away... A song about walking away from a relationship that she is in and shouldnt be,
Track 4 is what I see as a follow on from Walk Away. Fighter is a song sang to someone about how the pain they have caused her officially made her a fighter... A great song!
Track 5 is another interlude into a spanish sounding song about losing your heart.
Track 6 is Infatuation... About the way you lose yourself in a relationship and the difference between love and infatuation... Its upbeat and my favourite song on the album
Track 7 is another interlude leading into several songs covering the fact that you need to love yourself first, even if someone else doesnt.
Tracks 8- 14 all comprise songs in the same vein.
Track 15 is Get mine, Get yours... About a relationship and being equal (in ALL respects).. Another catchy song!
Track 16 is the infamous Dirty which I dont think needs much explaining.
Track 17 is the second part of the stripped interlude... It closes that chapter quite nicely.
Track 18 is the voice within. Its about when your lost and not sure what to do, trust yourself as much as other people. This leads really nicely into a hugely emotional song...
Track 19 is "Im ok"... A song which tells us all about abuse suffered by her mum infront of her at her fathers hands and how her mum pulled her thorugh it all! For me, this was the absolute stunner of the album and the most heart wrenching for me.
Track 20 is Keep on singing my song. Its a great completion to the album. It says that shes going to keep singing her song and not let anyone bring her down.
As far as Im concerned, this is the best album I have heard in a long time and one I will recommend to anyone who wants a song for all emotions.
