They're Giving Me The Hee-Bee-Gee-Bees
Review of Record, The (Their Greatest Hits) - Bee Gees (The) by waynehorrigan

Advantages: 30 plus years of hits; no "Chain Reaction"
Disadvantages: Lots of rubbish ballads that girls and wimps will like

...What can you do about the Bee Gees? For 38 years they've been plying their trade in top quality pop and disco, and low-end, sugary ballads that have been covered by the likes of Steps, Boyzone and Take That. With benefactors such as these and no real influential power in music to speak of, it's alarming that after Madonna, Jacko, The Beatles and Elvis, they are the 5th best-selling recording act OF ALL TIME. And so, hot on the heels of 1999's Greatest Hits comes this 2002-issued expanded companion of singles, top album tracks and covered songs in a double CD format. Catalogued in chronological order, the tracklisting alone makes fascinating reading as we trawl from the singles of 1967 on CD1 to tracks from 2001's top ten album, This Is Where I Came In. Things start off in 1967 with a quadrilogy of important Bee Gee compositions... Read review

Saturday Night Fever
Review of Saturday Night Fever [Remastered] - Original Soundtrack by dguibu

Advantages: The music is the best
Disadvantages: The movie is worst

...It is one of the best soundtrack speccially with the Bee Gees music like "Saturday Night Fever", "Stayin Alive", "More than a Woman" for example and groups as Kool and The Gang "These boots are made for walking" or The tramps" with the Disco Inferno that is a seven- minute music, in my own opinion I like it because I dance when I was a child and was a part of the best songs of the ends of the seventies. With this movie, The Bee Gees makes so famous. About the picture besides of the music it is the worse movie that I've ever watched because it don't have practically an argument, only that There will be a dancing contest in Studio 54 with the Bee Gees song and the whole soundtrack that I talk lines up. The starring is John Travolta who plays Tony Manero that is a waiter in a Pizza Reutarant by the day, and in the Night a dancer that he... Read review

Pop without the Bee Gees no way
Review of Greatest Hits by CaptainKidd

Advantages: Pop history is has to be said
Disadvantages: oh that high pichiness on some recordings .

...The original request CD title listing to which this op was to be place under was ‘The Record -Their Greatest Hits ‘ - this was important , as , as Greatest Hits albums go , this is the Bee Gees 2nd such album . The first was titled ‘Greatest’ and released under the RSO label in 1979 . The second is titled ‘The Record - their greatest hits’ , released in 2001 under the Polydor label . So for this op , I’ll provide VFR ( value for reading ) by combining both versions ... Background : The Bee Gees ( aka the Gibb Brothers ) formed as a group in 1965/66 . They released their first album and single ( Bee Gees 1st ; New York Mining Disaster ) in 1967 . Since then they have a number 1 hit single in every decade . Further more they’re British ( many think of them as American ) - they were born in Manchester . People more often... Read review
