...It was only after watching my newly acquired copy of U-571 the other day that prompted me to dust-off my DVD of Das Boot (Director’s Cut) and give it another look. In the past, this movie has been seen in several formats. Serialised on BBC2 and in standard movie length being two of them. The DVD version runs for 200 minutes – and that’s just the movie! I suspect that this is closer in length to the TV mini-series in content than the normal movie. The advantage of the DVD format, is that you can hear the soundtrack dubbed into English, or for the purist, in German with or without English* subtitles, which is, of course, much closer to the original. Tip – If you speak any German, see if you can spot the points where the somewhat primmer English subtitles deviate from the more lavatorial German dialogue... Read review

...I must confess I like mucking about with poetry, I excelled at it in school, however afterwards my literary skills took a downward direction. So this will be my interpretation of a mad poem. ...When my 4 month old little boy tipped him bouncer seat up for the thrid time, due to his size, I decided that would have to get on the internet and the Argos catalogue out and get him a highchair. Despite all the available chairs stating that they are all suitable from 6 months to 3 years I decidede to use my own descretion as a mother and buy him one. I opted for the Chicco happy snack highchair due to the fact that it was a great price and the seat also reclined to 2 further positions aswell as the upright position. The highchair has a very sturdy metal frame which measures 27 inches high from floor to the bottom of the seat. the width is 18 inches and when opened out the depth of the legs spans 30 inches. The seat measures approximately 17 inches high and 14 inches wide, it is also approximately 10 inces deep. In total... Read review
