...A great way to get summer going. I used this CD at a Hawaiian themed BBQ party thing I had at my place. There's something for everyone on this CD! And once everyone's had few drink, maybe some cocktails then all that matters is that you have music to boogie on down to! I love the summer vibe, and how all the tracks on this CD have clearly been selected especially because they remind you of summer or put you in that summer mood! We had great fun cooking some chicken dancing to Blue and even when my Dad turned up he was dancing away to some of the slightly more dated songs shall we say!! Keep this CD in your collection, it's one of those that you'll think your never hear again and then one day you'll just need to hear a song off here or you'll plan a last minute BBQ and hey presto you have your music sorted all night all... ...This album was released in 2000, just near the end of summer. It might be 5 years old but some of the hits still sound fresh. The album was released on cassette and CD but I listened to the various tracks on the internet. I'm slowly getting used to this modern technology! The music, as the title of the album suggests, is dance music and it covers "garage" as well as the "2 step" garage that emerged in the first half of this decade. The "2 step" refers to the arrangement of drums in the back, basically. As for the "garage" itself, I think it's to do with a style of music which originated in New York's "Paradise Garage". It has vocals, keyboards and sometimes strings and a hell of a lot of bass.
