Steps were a very popular British Pop Group. They were in the charts from 1997 to 2001.They were a girl/boy group and the members consisted of Claire Richards , Lisa-Scottlee , Faye Tozer, Ian 'H' Watkins and Lee Latchford-Evans.
* Claire Richards * The youngest member yet the one with the best voice.Claire was born in Middlesex on August 17th 1977.Prior to Steps she was in a band called TSD , they had a short taste of fame and toured with the likes of Ant n Dec. She was the lead singer in Steps. After leaving steps she and fellow steps member H formed a duo simply called 'H & Claire' In Spring 2007 Claire give birth to a baby boy called Charlie. Claire has recently made appearances on television programmes such as Loose Women and Gmtv , as well as singing 'Tragedy' solo on a recent Saturday night show called 'Everybody Dance'. Claire is getting married in November 2008.
*Faye Tozer * Born On November 14th 1975 in Northampton.Faye was often known as the smiley one. After leaving steps she sang a duet with Opera star Russel Watson called 'Someone Like Me'. Faye is currently playing Eva Cassidy in a west end musical.
*Lisa Scott-lee * Lisa is from Rhyl in North Wales. She is a trained dancer and trained at the italia conti school. She is most probably best known as the 'poorest' singer out of the girls in the band. She is married to ex Hear'say member Johnny Shentall. She gave birth to her first child ( a boy)earlier on this year.
*Ian 'H' Watkins* Ian is from South Wales. His nickname is H because he is always hyperactive.Last year he appeared on Celebrity Big Brother. He also came out as homosexual.
*Lee Latchford-Evans* He was the oldest member of the group and the one who sang the least. After leaving Steps he appeard on the programme 'Upper Street' where he joined four other ex-boyband members to form a band.He was sacked from Upper Street by the other members.
Summer Of Love was Steps' tenth single , a double A-side with When I Said Goodbye. The songs were released in the United Kingdom on July 3rd 2000. Summer Of Love comes under the pop genre. The length of the song is three minutes and thirty two seconds. Summer Of Love reached number five in the British single charts. Summer Of Love is taken of Steps' third album Buzz.
Summer of Love is a summer song! When I hear this song , I always think of the Summer it was released back in 2000. I love how this song has a latino feel to it. . I also like the fact how the lyrics have some Spanish words such as 'fiesta' and 'la vida loca' in them. I like how the lyrics tell a story. I think it's good how each member of the band have a go at singing a line or two on this song , instead of leaving the singing to Claire or H like their usual songs. One thing I didn't like was the fact that When I Said Goodbye was a double A Side with Summer of Love. I felt that When I said Goodbye was the 'lead' single , whereas Summer Of Love was just a song added to make it a double A-Side. Although I found that Summer Of Love was in fact a much better and more Steps-sounding song compared to When I Said Goodbye (WISG). Overall a great Summer Song!

Nowadays, isn't it somewhat irrelevant to mention sexuality?? I don't know. I heard someone on the radio saying how we don't say "you wouldn't say my 'brown eyed friend' so why say 'my gay friend'". Nice review, although it's a bit repetitive from your other steps single review.

Fantastic review - really enjoyed reading it, you gave me some good info about what they're upto now that I didn't know. Nice to see they're career didn't end with steps. Although I have heard a reformation is in the pipeline hopefully if the stories are true. This is one of my fave songs of all time, the video is fantastic too - not sure if you have seen it or not but it is worth getting the DVD for all their single videos. Class - well done on a fab review look forward to reading more.
