Advantages: Classic dance music from the best of the best! Disadvantages: Already have a lot of this music on CD so a bit of a waste of money
What Is It?
The Ministry of Sound 'Anthems 1991- 2008' is a CD set which is a mixture of the best dance songs, mixed by the Ministry of Sound, over the last 17 years. This is a 3 CD box set which contains 63 famous dance anthems of the last 2 decades.
Why Buy It
I bought this as I have always been a huge fan of the Ministry of Sound. I am not old enough to have heard the stuff before around 2000 as I only got into dance music in the last 5 years and am only 15 so it adds up. Anyway I had heard a lot of the material on this CD on the radio and really enjoyed it, but I wanted now to be able to listen to it in the space of my own home on my i-pod of CD player.
Also the adverts on TV as well, they really intrigued me and after listening to the snippets of songs. It made me want to listen to dance music and the advert had ...
Advantages: packed full of hits, some lesser known, as well as a CD of new anthems in the making Disadvantages: Heard them all before? Possibly! But we still love them
Dave Pearce is a DJ which is synonymous with classic dance as a resulted of his long standing radio show on BBC Radio 1 entitled 'Dance Anthems'. Off the back of this success he has released a long line of classics compilations. This is another installment of what has proved to be a highly successful series. The title my mis-lead, Trance Anthems 2009 may suggest to some that this is 3 CD's of the finest in brand new trance 2009 has had and will have to offer. Unfortunately though this is not really the case. On the other side as you may expect, you have 2 CD's crammed full of all of the usual tracks we've come to know and love/hate (Delete as appropriate) over the last decade. Anthems brings you the best dance music for over a decade, its an impossible cd to dislike. Their are loads of Artists with over 65 tracks of quality sound. Anyone who enjoys dance or purely beat music I advise you to buy this with no hesitation, I guarantee you will enjoy the songs to a high standard. You can pick the album up for around ten pound, which for a three cder, is good. I haven't yet come across a dance album better than this and with ministry of sound's reputation I probally wont. Some of the artists it consists of are: Daft Punk, Darude, Fatboyslim, Faithless and so many more. your mind will soon become addicted to the rhythms of Anthems and will forget about the other genres for a while.
