The back cover of the CD is a deep purple colour and has the track listings on it. the name of the artist is printed in bold white lettering and the song title is printed in bright pink, making it easy to distinguish between the artist and the name of the song. He is thee man. This the guy responsible for making Tori Amos "Professional Widow" and The Sneeker Pimps "Spin Spin Sugar" massive hits. As well as producing some damn fine house records himself such as "You Don't Know Me" and "The Funk Phenomena". His artist albums have never failed to impress; he always tries something new and inventive. As a DJ he is a master of the decks with all the tricks up his sleeve, he can mix everything thing from house and techno to hiphop and ragga. ...-hole into any of my existing notions of music genres. The CD starts out innocently enough with the upbeat track "Here Comes the Mayo", which with a catchy bass line and beat fuses Spanish and English rap that is brought together with an anthemic chorus. The track brings out the feel of the carefree and indulgent debauchery favoured by the film's young protagonists - two teenage boys dominated by hedonism, sex, marihuana, and more sex - and the salsa-style piano one can hear through the arrangement (combined of course with the Spanish lyrics) evokes the atmosphere of the boys' lively home of Mexico City. The next track creates a similar mood. The slightly eccentric "La Sirenita" combines a familiar-sounding Mexican trumpet theme with a jovial melody about, if my memory of Spanish serves me well, a mermaid who is the object of the singer's affection...
