Satch is indeed back, with yet another fine album, and yet again thankfully no singing! This is one of his better album's, really technical, and well written. This album contains some of Joe's best known work.
Here we go then, the album list:

Surfing With The Alien (4.25) The album track, and probably one of his best known song's. This song is reverred in the guitar world as it's pure technical prowess and songwriting skills outmatch most other guitarists. It's a nice heavy tune, wich launches us staraight into the action, Joe gives us a nice heavy riff before blasting in with his fantastic tone and a lead riff. The solo here show's us exactly what Joe's made of, and to be honest i think he's on speed cos there's no way anyone can play that fast!
Rating:10/10

Ice 9 (3.59) One of my favorite's, an amazing rhythm part, and a really melodic lead. The rhythm is really funky and the lead works well with that. The solo on this song is probably my favorite because Joe uses a lot of different effects, and I love the way his tone changes halfway through the solo. Here we can see how well Joe can use the whammy bar with a really weird effect to finish off the solo.
Rating:10/10

Crsuhing Day (5.14) This song has one of the best rhythm part's I've ever heard by Satch, and the lead also is also something to envy. His tone on this song is well crafted, you can see he's taken great care in this song to get everything sounding perfect, and quite frankly, it does! The solo is stunning again, Joe really breakes every border on this album with his lead playing. The sweep arpeggiated solo's halfway through is probably the best, really showing us his fine skills.Rating: 10/10

Always With Me, Always With You (3.22) This song is one of Joe's finest, and probably the best written on the album. It's a very romantic and emotional song, as you can hear through his playing. There is one part in this song that I love, just before his main solo, at around 2 minutes, he plays an incredible little lick to start off the solo. That really caught my attention to this song, and made me realize how well the lead and rhythm worked together.
Rating: 10/10

Satch Boogie (3.13) Haha! What can you say about this song? It's one big boogie and I guarantee it will make you dance around like a fool! Joe's amazing riff to start off the song is really quite amazing, and I'm sure he's proud that this song carries his name (Satch). He really get's carried away with his crazy solo, but it's nice to listen to such an accomplished player play the instrument so well. This is another you might recognize, because this is another of Joe's finest works.
Rating: 10/10

Hill Of The Skull (1.48) This song is one that would work amazingly well with an orchestra (like Metallica did in S&M). It has a really epic sound to it, and has real emotion engraved deep in the song. If it was longer I would have enjoyed listening to it more, but it was very short and to be honest there didnt seem much point to it at all.
Rating: 6/10

Circles (3.28) I love this song, it remind's me of 'The Extremist' album, it starts off with a slow and really acoustic feel to it wich i love. But just wait until Joe has his way, he bursts in with an explosion of wah, and tapping, and it really blows you away, I really dont know how he got it to work with the acoustic rhythm at the start of the song, but it does somehow!
Rating: 8/10

Lord's Of Karma (4.48) This is one funky track! I love this one, the lead is really good, but the riff is what set's this one apart! It was just sheer funk all the way! The lead Joe plays, is reminisent of that james bond theme tune(1.32), and it was quite twisted feel to it. Then in comes Joe's solo, maybe not one of the best on the album, but it works well with the song, and that's what matters. On the whole this song has a nice eastern feel to it wich is nice to hear.
Rating: 8/10

Midnight (1.41) This is a very mellow and relaxing song. Joe uses a technique called two-hand tapping is this song, and this song just shows how well he can use it. This is a very famous song in guitar circles because of the sheer originality of it, and that it why Joe is known as one of the best!
Rating:10/10

Echo (5.37) There is a nice baseline to start this one off. It's quite a slow song to start off with, and Joe's lead is easy to listen to, this song is something you could fall asleep to. Even his solo is slower and very melodic, rather than his usual 100mph shred fests. This is a very nice song to finish this album off, and i thoroughly enjoyed listening to this one.
