... The concept of SweatSuit is kind of funny. The underlining factor of "you must buy both to get the full album" is a bit laughable, even for a Nelly fan. Of course, I'm sure he'll sell like hotcakes, like he always does, so why fight it? Basically, each CD has an average of 12 songs, which ... Read review

Advantages: Tilt Ya Head Back, Strictly for Club-Hoppers Disadvantages: The same old garbage you'd expect
...Nelly has explained that while Sweat is composed of his trademark "club bangers", Suit is more emotional and slower. So he wants us to pay near 30 dollars for 24 songs on two different CDs? Please... this isn't Pokemon Red and Blue here... Sweat is the first of the two I decided to cover, primarily because I would like to do it in order. Of course, I'm an unbiased hip-hop head, but it's easy to figure out what to expect from this. Nelly has done ... ...Sweat begins with "Heart of A Champion", which is a pretty cool title if I do say so myself. Of course, titles don't make a song. Nelly samples the NBC NBA theme song, once again relying on a poor gimmick in order to craft subject matter which one would think is creative, but ends up being horrible (see "Air Force Ones"). The beat is tight, probably because he did nothing with it except sample and add a drum loop, and the Lincoln University Vocal ...

Advantages: A few club bangers Disadvantages: Old problems come through here again
"Sweat" is half of a double album by Nelly, released in 2004. This part of it contrasts from the "Suit" side as this one has Nelly rapping in has more gritty style, and so it has all of the hyped-up club unes as well some the times where he attempts to get 'gangsta' on us (keep trying). 1. Heart of a Champion (feat. Lincoln University Vocal Ensemble)
Really, when you buy a Nelly album you know what you're in for: poor quality Hip Hop (and everything ... ...start the album off with such a tune which displays this. Nelly begins as if he's a boxer with some motivational music, however the enery which it creates simply transfers into him resorting to his old stupid rhymes as he brags about things like giving to charity.
**One Star**
2. Na-NaNa-Na (feat. Jazze Pha)
When I first heard this track, I couldn't believe that it was Nelly performing it because it is so out-of-character for him to do such a ...

Advantages: Nelly bouncing back with his best album to date Disadvantages: You spend all your money on "sweat" and wonder if you should have brought "suit"
When I heard Nelly was making a comeback I thought "great!" I'd always enjoyed his music, his unique smooth voice, quirky , catchy sing along, dance along lyrics and he isn't bad looking either!
However when I heard he was releasing two singles, "Flap Your Wings" and "My Place" from two different albums I thought "Nooo!" So I saved up and brought both but "Sweat" is in my opinion the best one. Despite the explicit lyrics it holds the best songs ... ...your iggle on" to.
This album see's Nelly experimenting with different styles of music and basically seeing what works for him. He trys out reggae, rock, blues and hip hop.
The single "Flap Your Wings" is very catchy and a good track to shake your thing to I think this album is all about the dancing and "Sweat drippin all over your body". A decent album is nothing without a collaboration these days as Nelly illustrates by joining forces with pop ...

Advantages: Some great tracks that you would expect from Nelly Disadvantages: Only half are very good, the others let down the album
...obvious that Suit was better. Sweat does have some great tracks, the opening Heart Of A Champion, is one of my favourite Nelly tracks. Great tracks include Tilt Ya Head Back with Christina Aguilera and Getcha Getcha, but unfortuantely, the great tracks are not consistent enough.
I think Nelly is a great artist, and this does come through on this album, with the lyrics and music, but some tracks just aren't that cut above the rest, which they are ... ...13 tracks:
1) Heart Of A Champion - Great song, top beat with a good chorus with a vocal ensemble.
2) Na-NaNa-Na - Good song, a bit heavier with Jazze Pha, but not that great a tune.
3) Flap Your Wings - Again a good song, but nothing spectacular
4) American Dream - Not that great, a bit of a predictable beat, not that great lyrics.
5) River Don't Runnn - Again, not that great a track, maybe because I'm not a massive Stephen Marley fan. Not ...

Album Notes: After a pair of multi-platinum records made Nelly the instant icon of St. Louis rap, the man who found the perfect balance of pop and hip-hop still had a surplus of music to let out. Album Reviews: Rolling Stone (p.97) - 3 1/2 stars out of 5 - "SWEAT is the street album, playing up his hip-hop clout....Proving Nelly as one of the most clever and effusive pop minds around..."
