Advantages: Based on a true story - it is extremely unsettling. Disadvantages: Violent... disturbing images.
, in no way, paints the Mormons, as a whole, as evil? more does it focus on the power of a single unhinged individual to brainwash people, who under normal circumstances, are good and kind.
?September Dawn? is an extremely unsettling movie... there is an aura to the film that is heavy and dark, tainted by evil, and that singular impression that something terrible is going to happen never lifts, never dissipates, not even when the young lovers are lost within an embrace, or are innocently chatting about nonsensical matters beneath a cloudless sky with the sun shining down brightly upon them? the atmosphere is decidedly unnerving, and there is a definite sadness attached to all of the scenes where the young lovers are present.
