I have swam at this pool a number of times for various competitions. There are some excellent things about it - The top one being that it is an Olympic sized swimmingpool (50m) and there is a severe lack of those in Britain compared to other European countries.Being a 50m pool makes it excellent to train in as there is more space for swimmers in each lane. It is also good for long course swimming competitions. Furthermore, the water temperature is just right when I have been there and is not too hot and not too cold. Bath is not one of the most accessible cities although the pool is only a 10 min bus ride from Bath train station.
However, there are some negative aspects to it - one being that there is not a large amount of seating in the spectator galleries so hosting big competitions here would be a problem. Also the girls changing ...

Well I couldn?t answer the question. People wonder why our swimmers don?t win many medals, or break world records. How are we expected to compete with the rest of the world, unless we build the proper facilities for our athletes? We have the coaches; we have the talent, why doesn?t the Lottery build the right size pools around the country to give our swimmers the opportunity to compete against the best. . ...
