Swingin' New Big Band - Buddy Rich

Advantages: Even if you're not a country music fan you'll love this album
Disadvantages: Not long enough

...I discovered Big 'n' Rich purely by accident, I was in the process of downloading some music on a well known legal music downloading site and had put Country Music in to the search bar and this band came up. This album was released on the 5th April 2004 in America but much later here, anywhere between the 17th May 2004 right through to the 6th September 2004 and I doubt many people have heard of them. THE BAND --------------- Big 'n' Rich are John Rich and Big Kenny and originate from the good ole USA. They class their music as 'Country music without prejudice', they got together back in 1998 John Rich had previously been in a band but decided to go solo and try and win a record contract where as Big Kenny managed to secure a record deal but saw his album go nowhere. ... Buddy Lodge I booked Buddy Lodge for my very first visit to Thailand having had it recommended by a couple of people. I was travelling from the UK alone and was being collected at the airport, but wanted to stay for a few days in Bangkok before moving down to my new home in Hua Hin. Location The hotel is located on the very busy Koh San Road in Bangkok, which is a haven for travellers from all over the world and aptly nicknamed "the centre of the backpacking universe". The street is actually heaving all day and well into the night with stalls, tuk tuks and bars. It?s towards the top of the street and you are likely to get dropped on in your taxi at this end if you?re travelling from the airport. ...~~ NEW YORK, NEW YORK ~~ Another movie from my musical collection and believe it or not before this viewing I had never seen it before, so I had no idea what to expect. I was also quiet surprised that it was a relatively young film, compared to a lot of good musicals, it opened in America in 1977. I knew the song New York, New York by Frank Sinatra, but I had never heard of the film. ~~ The Film ~~ The movie tells the complicated love story of two very talented people, both having strong personalities and creative talents which don't always gel together. This makes for a loving yet turbulent relationship. It spans across a decade of their lives beginning just after World War II when music was also starting to go through some dramatic changes from the big band sounds and Jazz to the improvisations of be-bop.
